TORX PLUS® Drive
page 11page 10
The TORX PLUS® Drive was designed to enhanceassembly line performance. Manufacturers allover the world have realized significantimprovements and cost savings by switching tothe TORX PLUS® Drive.
TORX PLUS® Drive Solutions
The straight, vertical sidewalls of the TORX PLUS® Drive System virtually eliminate
camout. Also, the TORX PLUS® recess completely encloses the driver tip, reducing
tool slippage as well as costly and unsightly damage to the fastener and surrounding
surfaces.
The elliptically-based geometric configuration of the TORX PLUS® Drive System
maximizes engagement between driver and fastener. It spreads driving forces over
the surface area, extending tool life.
TORX PLUS® Drive is the only drive system designed to ensure optimum torque
transmission and, ultimately, required clamp load. With a true 0° drive angle , the
TORX PLUS® system virtually eliminates the radial forces that can cause stress on
fastener recesses.
Ergonomic studies demonstrate that the TORX PLUS® Drive System can reduce fatigue
and muscular stress during the manual assembly of fasteners. That’s because little or
no end load is required to keep the driver engaged in the recess.
AUTOSERT® Feature
The AUTOSERT® Feature is the high productivity answer to high rpm
engagement on the assembly line. The patented feature is a TORX PLUS®
Drive exclusive. Compound angle guide ramps, used at each lobe, allow for
higher rpm engagement. It’s the perfect solution for automated, robotic and
other assembly situations where the driver bit is continuously rotating. The
AUTOSERT® feature even helps in manual assembly, creating a self-centering
and engaging action.

engineering to meet the exact fastening needs of the customer’s products.
The family of nuts is engineered to improve quality, reduce assembly
operations, and lower cost.
• Press in nuts
• Blind nuts
• Flush nuts
• Broaching nuts
Usually, the fastener material is harder than the host material.
Self clinching fasteners are ideal for applications that require strong threads in thin
metal. Installation requires a pressed force into a punched, drilled or cast hole which
will provide high push out and torque out resistance.
Our Self Clinching fastener range is categorized into - Nuts, Standoffs and Inserts.
Standoffs serve both as a fastener and a spacer. Sizes range from M2 to M15
and material options include low carbon steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminum and
nylon.
These devices are used to mount support panels, separate chassis and other
components. Typically found in computer peripherals.
The typical range of standoffs we cater for include:
• Concealed head standoff
• Thru-hole threaded standoff
• Broaching standoff
• Blind standoff
Self clinching fasteners are designed toprovide deep tapped female threads or studsfor use in conjunction with thin sheet metallicmaterials. When installed they typicallydisplace the host material around the matinghole. They provide a permanent attachment tothe parent material thus allowing theassociated nut or bolt to be removed in servicewithout risk of the fastener becomingdislodged.
• Flare-mounted standoff
• Keyhole standoff
• Grounding standoff
• Snap-top standoff
• Quick release standoff
Inserts are used to strengthen plastic, composite and alloy boss materials
in which threaded screws can be installed and removed more than once.
Inserts are specifically designed in applications helical knurl bands which
provide a combination of high torque and pulling out resistance.
Its rapid installation into thermo-plastics by means of heat or ultrasound is
especially suited for applications that require frequent assembly and
disassembly of the unit for service or repair. Inserts come in various profiles
