WEDDINGS & SERVICES | 2 1 | WEDDINGS & SERVICES Venues Venues F ounded in 1141 AD, Wroxall Abbey Hotel & Estate has been a significant Warwickshire landmark well-known as a wonderful and tranquil wedding destination. Indeed, set in the heart of England, Wroxall provides an unrivalled location with seclusion and intimacy amidst un-spoilt parkland and gardens with a backdrop of the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. The wedding venue is steeped in historical charm and splendour and is ideal for photographs, entertainment and fireworks “The Mansion, the Court, the Marquee, and Sir Christopher Wren’s Walled Garden are all wonderful settings and venue choices for your wedding ceremony and reception,” says Anika Chauhan, a member of the dedicated and professional wedding team at Wroxall. “At Wroxall Abbey Hotel, truly one of the best wedding venues in Britain, we understand the importance of your special day, which is why we have something to offer every bride and groom looking for a truly romantic, idyllic and unique venue with complete facilities for the whole wedding party.” Wroxall’s location and offerings has resulted in it being conferred with the award of Excellence for Wedding Venue for the year 2010 and 2011 by Shires Magazine, and it is the only Warwickshire venue on the Independent Newspapers top UK wedding venues list. Anika comments: “Our facilities include a selection of elegant rooms and venues for both religious and civil ceremonies, including our own non-denominational cathedral on site. “We also boast an enviable collection of 72 individually styled bedrooms, superb menus and dining where you can be sure of excellent food and drinks.” Wroxall has also won a series of awards in the past year including the Bordeaux Wine Council and Restaurant Magazine’s UK winner of ‘exceptional dinner’. The hotel has a leisure club, indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna with treatment rooms for pampering during the run up, or the morning of your big day. “When you combine these with glorious indoor and outdoor settings, you can see why Wroxall is a fantastic venue with exceptional choices for both large and intimate wedding parties.” Wroxall consists of three venues, capable of hosting an intimate civil ceremony, a ‘traditional white wedding’, or a large and colourful multicultural wedding. The Mansion offers elegant rooms, which include the Broadwood Bar, Garden Lounge, Sonnets and Wedgwoods restaurants providing unspoilt views over the grounds, sunken garden and surrounding countryside. The Vaults Suite, with Wrens Bar, Lemon Trees & Vines allow for smaller evening celebrations. The Court, which holds the original stables and the historic landmark clock tower, does allow for an alternative for a wedding reception. The Court includes tapestries, a bespoke function room, Arches Bar & Bistro, and 24 individual bedrooms and suites. There is also a private courtyard that allows guests to have a part of the venue exclusive and contained just for themselves. Wroxall’s third and largest venue sits within Sir Wren’s ‘Crinkly Crankly’ Walled Garden. Anika says: “This is not only impressive on any discerning wedding invitation, but our Grand Marquee, surrounded by ancient fruit and rose trees, and lush yew hedges, gives beautiful privacy. “The classic marquee facilitates exclusivity for weddings of up to 600, or divides well for various numbers of guests. This year round marquee is fully-heated making it attractive for an event at any time of year.” Another attractive feature of Wroxall are its grounds, which includes the Sunken Garden, the Stone Archway, ruins of the original Abbey and the terrace along the back of the house, which can be ideal photo opportunities, besides alfresco dining, hog roasts and outdoor recreation. Wroxall employs professional wedding managers and coordinators to help organise a tailor-made wedding to suit all tastes and requirements. According to Anika, Wroxall is one of the most romantic wedding venues the West Midlands can showcase and is a ‘must-see’ for every bride and groom looking for a truly special and exceptional venue. “Our team of wedding co-ordinators understand the importance of your day and work alongside all other staff to ensure its success,” says Anika. “We strive to make certain that every aspect of your wedding is unrivalled, much like the setting. We will help to plan and choose an inclusive wedding package, a tailor-made wedding, or design the day to suit your budget.” Anika and her colleagues regularly attend national wedding fairs across the country in order to keep up with constantly changing trends. “Smaller, more intimate weddings are becoming more and more popular. Wroxall boasts the flexibility of venues which are able to hold a ceremony and wedding breakfast/ reception, from 4 to 600 people. “With a dedicated co-ordinator from the first enquiry until the end of the very day we will do everything we can to make your wedding day everything you want it to be.” In addition to weddings, Wroxall also hosts events marking various occasions such as engagement parties, anniversaries, christenings, birthdays, blessings, renewal of vows and family celebrations. “We are also happy to showcase some of the leading wedding suppliers in the area, who provide the top quality services to make your wedding truly special,” says Anika.
