• Cross cutting responsibility for developing adaptation to climate change inside the EU - to ensure that an appropriate climate adaptation dimension is present in all Community policies

• Build on the White Paper on adaptation to climate change and to help develop adaptation strategies across all policy areas

• Be responsible for relations with the most vulnerable developing countries and international negotiations on adaptation issues.

1. Set up "Adaptation Steering Group" (IASG)

State of Play:• Climate-proofing of EU-funded investments,

5. Enhance External Dimension on Adaptation (pushing forward adaptation agenda through financial support, technology and capacity building)
