A. TO ALL BIDDERS:
This addendum is part of the contract documents. Changes shall be taken into
account by the bidders in preparing their proposal. Bidders shall verify this by
indicating receipt of this addendum in their bids.
B. INTENT AND SCOPE:
This addendum, issued before the receipt of proposals, is intended to provide
additional information, answer questions raised by prospective bidders and to
clarify or revise the requirements of the contract documents.
C. CLARIFICATIONS
1. Commercial plumbing permits must be taken out by a State Licensed, Miami
County Registered Plumbing Contractor. All contractors completing plumbing
work must be registered with Miami County Plumbing Department. Plumbing
permits are issued through the Miami County Public Health Plumbing
Department. Plumbing Contractors working on commercial projects must meet
with plumbing inspectors before a permit will be issued.
2. The Zoning Permit was issued 10/20/20.
a. Landscaping Contractor is responsible for providing a complete set of
drawings and specifications for permit that meets City of Troy standards,
construction and Architects review.
b. See attached “A Guide of Planting Types” for your reference (Exhibit A)
3. A Conditional Building Permit was issued 9/28/20.
a. GC to submit sealed shop drawings for exterior pre-engineered metal
canopies for Architect and Building Department review.

E. RFI’s:
1. On Drawing D401, Note 6 states to relocate the existing gas line, refer to
plumbing drawings for additional details. The plumbing drawings do not show
any relocating. Please advise if this is being relocated into the janitor room?

2. Are we only to include chases and back boxes for Div. 27 & 28?
a. See revised drawings for clarification.
3. Is MC cable allowed on this project?
a. Bid the project per plans and specifications (Base Bid)
b. MC cable will be looked at as a voluntary alternate when submitting bid.
Provide Add/Deduct cost with alternate along with supporting
documentation.
4. Can the following hardware be bid as an equal to the specified material?
a. Bid the project per plans and specifications (Base Bid)

5. On Drawing T001: Alternate 3 notes Pavement Sealing. On drawing A001 the
Note 101 has been removed. Are we to include the pavement sealing as
Alternate 3 as on the original drawings?
a. Yes. Pavement sealing is to be priced as Alternate #3 per the original
drawings. Note 101 previously provided the scope of work for Alternate
#3, which is now on T001. All alternate descriptions were removed from
within the drawing set and placed on T001 for conciseness.
6. On the electrical drawings we have the following questions: (a) The fixture
schedule is missing fixture LD6-E Description and Fixture Information. (b) The
fixture schedule is missing fixture LS4 Description and Fixture Information. (c)
Drawing E-102 Note: #3 and Drawing E-501 Note: #4 contradict each other
which is the preferred method?
a. See revised drawings for clarification.

7. Who is the manufacturer for the canopy/awnings?
a. No specific manufacturer has been selected for the metal canopy
awnings.
b. Per the Pre-Bid Meeting Minutes dated 9.30.20: The GC is responsible for
pre-engineered metal canopies. Color, profile, and design intent as
shown on the drawings.
8. What is the budget for the Greenville Federal job in Troy, OH so we can get an
amount on the bond that is required?
a. Alternate #1, is based off your bid for the project.
9. Any update on the asbestos report?
a. The owner is in the process of getting the asbestos report completed.
10. Any update on Alternate #4?
a. See Pre-Bid Meeting Minutes dated 9.30.20 for clarification.

A GUIDE OF PLANTING TYPES THE CITY OF TROY, OHIO
A Guide of Planting Types, (“Guide”) is designed to inform contractors, business owners, citizens, and all people who work and enjoy recreation in the City of Troy, of the particular type of landscaping material the City of Troy prohibits being planted in commercial and industrial parking lots. Thought should be given as to the selection of plant material which will survive harsh conditions such as strong winds, extreme heat, freezing temperatures, and roadway de-icer. While not individually listed, the Guide also prohibits the planting of vegetation as listed in the City of Troy Codified Ordinance, Section 521.11 – Noxious Weeds. Other vegetation that will be prohibited, are those items with undesirable characteristics such as weak wood, undesirable fruit, thorns, susceptibility to disease, etc. Each proposed landscape plan will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Should a landscape material which is prohibited in this Guide be chosen for areas other than parking lots, the setback of that particular material, from a parking lot or area, will need to be the distance of the canopy of the material at maturity, plus 10 feet. Questions concerning information in this Guide may be directed to the City of Troy Development Department.

ARCHITECTURE+ DESIGN
1. THE DRAWINGS, AND OTHER DOCUMENTS PREPARED BY K4 ARCHITECTURE LLC AND THE ARCHITECT'S CONSULTANTS, ANDCOPIES THEREOF FURNISHED TO THE CONTRACTOR, ARE FOR USE SOLELY WITH RESPECT TO THIS PROJECT, AND ONLY ATTHIS SITE. DRAWINGS, AND OTHER DOCUMENTS PREPARED BY K4 ARCHITECTURE LLC OR THE ARCHITECT'S CONSULTANTS,WILL RETAIN ALL COMMON LAW, STATUTORY AND OTHER RESERVED RIGHTS, IN ADDITION TO THE COPYRIGHTS.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE OWNER, ARCHITECT, ARCHITECT'S CONSULTANTS, AND AGENTSAND EMPLOYEES OF ANY OF THEM FROM AND AGAINST CLAIMS, DAMAGES, LOSSES AND EXPENSES, ARISING OUT OF ORRESULTING FROM PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PURCHASE FROM AND MAINTAIN IN A COMPANY OR COMPANIES LAWFULLY AUTHORIZED TO DOBUSINESS IN THE JURISDICTION IN WHICH THE PROJECT IS LOCATED SUCH INSURANCE AS WILL PROTECT THE CONTRACTORFROM CLAIMS SET FORTH BELOW WHICH MAY ARISE OUT OF OR RESULT FROM THE CONTRACTOR'S OPERATIONS UNDERTHE CONTRACT AND FOR WHICH THE CONTRACTOR MAY BE LEGALLY LIABLE. PROPERTY INSURANCE SHALL BE ON AN"ALL-RISK" OR EQUIVALENT POLICY FORM.
4. WITHIN ONE YEAR AFTER THE DATE OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION, WHEN ANY OF THE WORK IS FOUND TO BE NOT INACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CORRECT ITPROMPTLY AFTER RECEIPT OF WRITTEN NOTICE FROM THE OWNER TO DO SO. LONGER PERIODS MAY APPLY AS INDICATEDIN THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR CERTAIN BUILDING COMPONENTS.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE FROM THE SITE PORTIONS OF THE WORK WHICH ARE NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEREQUIREMENTS OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND ARE NEITHER CORRECTED BY THE CONTRACTOR NOR ACCEPTED BYTHE OWNER. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BEAR THE COST OF CORRECTING DESTROYED OR DAMAGED CONSTRUCTION,WHETHER COMPLETED OR PARTIALLY COMPLETED, OF THE OWNER OR SEPARATE CONTRACTORS CAUSED BY THECONTRACTOR'S CORRECTION OR REMOVAL OF WORK WHICH IS NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THECONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
6. TESTS, INSPECTIONS AND APPROVALS OF PORTIONS OF THE WORK REQUIRED BY THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS OR BY LAWS,ORDINANCES, RULES, REGULATIONS OR ORDERS OF PUBLIC AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION SHALL BE MADE AT ANAPPROPRIATE TIME. IF SUCH PROCEDURES FOR TESTING, INSPECTION OR APPROVAL REVEAL FAILURE OF THE PORTIONS OFTHE WORK TO COMPLY WITH REQUIREMENTS ESTABLISHED BY THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, ALL COSTS MADE NECESSARYBY SUCH FAILURE INCLUDING THOSE OF REPEATED PROCEDURES AND COMPENSATION FOR THE ARCHITECT'S SERVICESAND EXPENSES SHALL BE AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
7. PERMITS AND FEES: OWNER SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR GENERAL BUILDING / ZONING PERMITS, FEES, AND APPROVALS.GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OTHER INSPECTIONS AND PERMITS.
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH AND GIVE NOTICES REQUIRED BY LAWS, ORDINANCES, RULES, REGULATIONS ANDLAWFUL ORDERS OF PUBLIC AUTHORITIES APPLICABLE TO PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK.
9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL EVALUATE THE JOB SITE SAFETY THEREOF AND SHALL BE FULLY AND SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FORTHE JOB SITE SAFETY OF SUCH MEANS, METHODS, TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES OR PROCEDURES.
10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INSPECTION OF PORTIONS OF WORK ALREADY PERFORMED TO DETERMINETHAT SUCH PORTIONS ARE IN PROPER CONDITION TO RECEIVE SUBSEQUENT WORK.
11. CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ARE COMPLEMENTARY, AND WHAT IS REQUIRED BY ONE SHALL BE AS BINDING AS IF REQUIRED BYALL.
12. BEFORE STARTING EACH PORTION OF THE WORK, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CAREFULLY STUDY AND COMPARE THEVARIOUS DRAWINGS AND OTHER CONTRACT DOCUMENTS RELATIVE TO THAT PORTION OF THE WORK, SHALL TAKE FIELDMEASUREMENTS OF ANY EXISTING CONDITIONS RELATED TO THAT PORTION OF THE WORK AND SHALL OBSERVE ANYEXISTING CONDITIONS AT THE SITE AFFECTING IT. ANY ERRORS, INCONSISTENCIES OR OMISSIONS AND CONFLICTSDISCOVERED BY THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE REPORTED PROMPTLY TO THE ARCHITECT AS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATIONIN SUCH FORM AS THE ARCHITECT MAY REQUIRE FOR ARCHITECT'S RESOLUTION.
13. DO NOT SCALE DRAWINGS. WRITTEN DIMENSIONS GOVERN. ALL PARTITION LOCATIONS, ALL DOOR AND OPENINGLOCATIONS SHALL BE SHOWN ON FLOOR PLAN. IN CASE OF CONFLICT, NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT.
