ADDENDUM NO. 1 - PAGE 1 OF 13
Fusible PVC is acceptable. Pipe shall be 18” DR 18 PC 235 C900 PVC pipe for the HDD sections. Quantities Updated on Bid Proposal for HDD sections Leaving Posey Road to access Site 3, what is the width of the easement? The plans don’t indicate a road to the site – will a gravel road have to be built? 20’ Construction easement. Yes, please include 4” (depth) of compacted rock, 10 FT(width) from Posey Road to STA 35+69. A detail and drawing shall be sent in a follow up addendum The details show a transition from a 4” line to 2” feeder lines. Does this apply to the dripper lines aswell? Yes For the electric actuated valves, there are no drawings or details provided for supply electric service to the valves. Can you clarify what is required to supply power to the valves? An electrical sheet has been added for clarification. Contractor shall coordinate with the power utility to provide the single-phase service per attached sheet E2.0, “POWER RISER DIAGRAM-SECTIONAL ELECTRICAL VALVE OPERATOR, TYPICAL”. “Electronic” valves is a typo in the plans. Should read “Electric Valves” A plan sheet highlighting electric valves in an upcoming addendum Is the SCADA integration and all remote connectivity to the electric valves and pivot heads to be provided by the Division 1 contractor?Yes. Installation of SCADA system shall be in Division I and installation, electrical, mechanical, labor, etc of the electric valves and actuators shall be completed by Division II. Please verify that all PVC force mains are to bedded in crushed stone to the springline of the pipe. This requirement shall be removed for force main piping. It will be required for gravity pipe applications. To clarify, force mains do not need to be bedded to the spring line with rock. This will be on a field run decision to determine if subsurface conditions require any bedding along force main route. Gravel shall be paid with Line item “Gravel for Trench Stabilization.” Please verify that mega-lugs are an acceptable alternate to concrete blocking. Acceptable Please remove and replace Specification Section 15402 Please confirm the capacity of the screen. The specifications call out 4,500 GPM as the total intake capacity in 2.02.A, and then 750 GPM in 2.02.B. 4,500 GPM is correct. Please omit 750 GPM. The drawings show a 20” diameter screen that’s 62” long, but the spec 2.02.B calls out a 16” diameter screen. The screen shall have an OD of 36” and an Overall length of114”. An acceptable screen is the Johnson T36HCE. Plan show 20” screen and that is incorrect. 15402-2, 2.02, A Calls for an intake to have a capacity of 4500 GPM, however 15402-2, 2.02, B states the capacity should be 750 GPM. Please clarify the rated flow. Updated to 4500 GPM 15402-3, 2.06, A Calls for a 12” flangeUpdated to 18" 15402-3, 2.06, A Calls for a 1.5” air backwash connection – 2” air back wash pipe would be required. Updated to 2"
ADDENDUM NO. 1 - PAGE 2 OF 13
15402-4, 4.02, A, 2 Calls for a 80 gallon receiver, however based on an airline distance of 100 feet and a screen depth of 10 feet you would need a 240 gallon air receiver tank with 2" air lines.Updated Reference drawing C2.2 for the required demolition of structures for this existing facility. Are the below grade portions of the structures to be removed or are we allowed to remove the structure to 3 feet below grade and leave the rest? For structures not located inside an existing or proposed pond, it is acceptable to remove the structure to three feet below grade. Will the Owner allow for the demolished concrete to be buried on-site within the footprint of the demolished structure? If not, is there a near-by landfill that will accept the demolished debris? No buried concrete allowed. There are landfills nearby Is there a prevailing wage rate for this project? No wage rate requirements Do the requirements of AIS apply to this project? No Buy American. Please remove GEFA/AIS specification section from the specs Please clarify drawing list for DIVISION I. Please confirm the following specifications are not part of Division I:
a. 02251 – Spray Field Preparation – Not included b. 02320 – Sprayfield Design – Not included c. 15401 – Effluent Sprinklers – Sprinklers in the existing sprayfield will be replaces as
needed. d. 15430 – Subsurface Dripperline with Emmiters – Not included e. 15515 – Center Pivots – Not included
Reference drawing C5.1. There are two proposed check valves on line “FM1”. I find no installation detail for these check valves. Is it the engineer’s intent for these valves to be in adequately sized precast vaults? Are these buried specialty check valves? Please provide detail or engineer’s intent.Yes, please place in manhole structures. Plan sheet updated Reference drawing C5.1. Line “FM1” has two cut-ins on existing force mains. Please identify what and where is the source of these force mains and identify the closest isolation valve. Two Influent pump stations. GPS coordinates of these pump station locations are Cherry St Pump Station 32.246956°-83.726787° Prison Influent Pump Station - 32.271581°-83.719240° An aerial image is attached to this addendum for reference What is the material for the existing force mains?8”and 12” PVC
In Section 02710 (3A) and Section 15110 (2B) both have fittings listed as full body C110. Will C153 compact fittings be acceptable?C153 compact fittings are acceptable
In Section 15120 (4) the gate valves are shown as double disc for sizes 14” and up. Will C509 resilient wedge gate valves be acceptable for the 18” valve in line “PP3”?If it meets the pressure standards and size constraints, yes
Question 4 – The valve schedule on sheet M7.1 does not seem to match what is drawn on the plans. On sheet M4.1 & M4.2 only 2 each of the check valves and plug valves are listed. Will only Pump No.1 & No.2 be required? No all pumps require plug valve and check valve. Updated valve schedule forthcoming.
Plan sheet C5.1 and C5.2 are updated and attached to this addendum
