WIDGETS The first step is to locate a widget that you would like to use in your course. (1) Title your object, (2) Click on the <> symbol to toggle to HTML Source Mode, (3) click your mouse in the big box, (4) paste your code as shown, and (5) scroll to the bottom of the Blackboard page and click Submit. Note: Most Widgets work in similar fashion. Widgets generate code and code can be embedded into Blackboard. The biggest thing to remember is when inserting your code into Blackboard, you need to click on <> and make sure you are in HTML Source Mode. For this example, we will look at the Widget called CountDownr. The first thing you must do is fill in some information about the countdown clock. After you fill in the boxes, click on Create Link. (see left) As you scroll down the page, you will see some code for “embedded copy.” Click your mouse inside of this box and do a select all (Ctrl + A) and then a copy (Ctrl + C). 1 3 2

WIDGETS

Open the location within your Blackboard course where you would like this timer to appear. Be sure you are in Edit View in Blackboard.

There are five things to do. (1) Title your object, (2) Click on the <> symbol to toggle to HTML Source Mode, (3) click your mouse in the big box, (4) pasteyour code as shown, and (5) scroll to the bottom of the Blackboard page and click Submit.
