Utilizing the time-honored tradition of hand-finishing furniture, our Artisan Finishes feature a superior depth and clarity only achieved through multiple finish steps and meticulous hand-work. We have reserved this process for our Master Artisans, limiting these finishes to be executed by individuals whose artistry has been learned and passed down through generations of North Carolina Craftsmen and Artists. Each Artisan Finish features a waxy, hand-rubbed, durable, pre-catalyzed formula to ensure that the luxurious, silky hand will endure the test of time.

Simply choose any wall paint and send us the name brand, paint color and paint number. Then choose from three distress levels and complementary sheen choices. There is even a base stain choice! We’ll paint your piece to that exact color specification, distress level, sheen choice and base stain selection - it’s that simple. Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, Pratt and Lambert, the list goes on and on...there are thousands of color choices from which to choose, and now Vanguard can make any of them YOURS.

Delicate sheets of hammered gold in Bronze Patina, Gold Leaf, Silver Leaf and Sterling are meticulously applied and individually layered by Vanguard’s American Artisans - each done by the hand of a highly skilled craftsman. Because the gold leafing process has remained virtually unchanged for hundreds of years, the technique has been passed down through generations of North Carolina Artisans. The resulting product is nothing less than a one-of-a-kind, gilded work of art.

The meticulous hand-work results in furniture that is of unmatched beauty and uniqueness — no two pieces look exactly the same.
