What is Appliance Snapshot?
Appliance Snapshot allows you to take a snapshot of the datastore and critical configuration files
It allows you clone the contents and identity of one Foundation Appliance to another For building a trial UAT VM to test a new TKU or Foundation upgrade For building a test VM to train new staff For supporting disaster recovery to a Hot Spare Appliance
Appliance Snapshots can be migrated between appliances or archived on an external SSH server

What is Appliance Snapshot not?
Appliance Snapshot stores only data and critical config, it expects to be restored on a fully built appliance at the same release level
It is not a full server backup as it does not back up the OS or the core Foundation code
It is not an upgrade tool and restoring a snapshot to a version of Foundation different to the one it was created on can cause undefined behaviour
