The primary school of

Choutagadda Thanda is located in

Palamuru which is a remote area in

Jadcherla mandal, Mahabub Nagar

district. Mr. Narender, SGT joined the

school in 2010 the literacy rate in the

mandal was very less. Most of the

parents were labourers in the fields and

their children were not sent to school.

Some of the students went to private

schools. Mr. Narender decided to

develop the school, increase the strength

by introducing innovative teaching

methods through the TLM material.

In order to attract, the parents and

children he started making innovative

teaching learning material which can be

used by the students and get hands on

experience. His TLM made learning

languages & maths easy. Children were

very enthusisatic in using the mateial

learning. Making words, calculating

sums, recognizing numbers and the

places were some of his innovtive TLM.

Other than this with his perseverance he

could get one additional classroom,

toilets and a compound wall built. He

also spent Rs. 25,000/- from his

personnel money

and got adjacent playground for the

school. SMC meetings were conducted

regularly and parents were made to

realize the importance of education for

their children. His teaching learning

material very much innovative and the

amount spent was very less.

The material prepared by Mr. Narender was recognized by SPO, RVM

(SSA) and was taken as an example for all districts. It was presented in the

workshop conducted by SPO.

He is an example for the teaching community for the dedication and

innovative ideas.

Best Practices in the Schools

Zilla Parishad High School, Yelgoi Village, Jarasangam Mandal, Medak

District

Sri. B. Srinivas, SGT who has been working as Yelgoi Village, Jarasangam

of Medak dist states that the school’s strength was 148 at the time of his joining

in August 2009 and consisits of 1to 8th classes.

The school was running in a bad condition

as there was no hygiene conditions prevailed

is the school. There were only two (2)

teachers and it was running with the help of

Vidya Volunteers.

With persevarance of these two teachers,

the villagers have come up and decided to

help the school in the form of donations,

accommodation facilities etc. In the mean

time the school has been upgraded up to

10th class. It is with a great effort of

villagers, teachers and donors the school is

provided with all infrastructure facilities.

The teachers have played their role is

providing adequate inputs, rigorous

monitoring, inclusion of dropouts into school

and contionnous efforts which are the basic

principles, needed to any educational

institution.

By introducing the best practices and putting them in force the parents

have come forward to join their children in the school. As a result, the nearby

private schools were closed and the schools strength of this school raised to 400.

Due to proper teaching and learning process, good evaluation and assessment

methods, the school secured 1st place in the mandal in SSC examination. In

Essay and Elocution competitions also, the school achieved 1st rank in the

district.

The efforts put by Mr. Srinivas in improving the strength of the school has

been recognized by the MEO. He was given the best teacher award in the

district for the year 2013-14. The school and teacher is an example of

committment and dedication towards growth and development of children of

their area.

“YES”....Mr.Akbar believed in this quotation and champed. If we log in to

further details, Mr.Akbar is a Head Master in NG Hukrana school, Medak

school. He pioneered to introduce an HONESTY BOX in the school where he is

working and the entire essence of managing the box is woven around the quality

of honesty......a true value to human life.

Mr.Akbar, HM of UPS NG Hukrana, Manoor mandal, found that children in the

school often purchase stationery, eatables etc from the petty shops that is located

outside the school premises. It was observed that the quality of the eatables and

also the stationery was of substandard quality and sold for high prices. And, very

often parents also encouraged buying stuff in these shops despite knowing the

low quality of the food and material.

In such situations, Mr. Akbar thought of having an own shop managed by the

children in their own school premises. He shared his thoughts with the other

teachers, parents and community members. They all appreciated and welcomed

his suggestion. As a result, they monetarily supported to purchase the materials

and the box.

With the support and cooperation given by them especially by the children, the

VIVEKANANDA HONESTY BOX was launched in the school under the aegis of

the Child Group. The box consists of all stationery material, petty eatables and a

cash box. The box is accessible to all children from Class I to Class VII. Each

item holds a price tag and when a child takes his/her necessary item; he/she

deposits that amount written on the price tag into the box. At the end of the day,

four members from child committee open the box and calculate the daily deposits

and maintain the records of the materials. In case of any material requirement,

they write the list and give it to the teachers for its procurement from

Narayankhed.

The HONESTY BOX is successfully functioning from the last five months and to

applaud the efforts of the children, there was not a single rupee variance seen in

the amount deposited in the cash box and the material that was taken from the

box.

Thus, the HONEXTY BOX demonstrated the truthfulness, sincerity and

solidarity of the children; and also their skills that was successful in managing

the box.

the present strength are 2008-09 are only 85 strength present in Primary 264 and High school 130

total 394 and teachers strength also increased 2008-09 academic year only 6 teachers but now

2013-14 Primary 8 (1LFL Headmaster and 7 SGTS ) and High School 7 teachers ( 1. Gazitted

Headmaster and 6 teachers) total 15 teachers.

collected from the neighbourhood people as well provided from SSA. The books are bounded and

handled in a proper way. Children turn to library whenever they are free and enjoy reading books. This

is a true example of encouraging reading habits among the students.

MPPS, Mupparam, Dharmasagar Mandal, Warangal District

In the academic year 2012 – 13 the enrollment of the school was only 15. The

parents of the village were inclined in sending their children to the nearby

English Medium school. The Head Master Mr. P. Sammaiah, the teacher

Mrs. A. Subhashini approached the parents to send their children to the Govt.

school but in vain. When approached the local authorities said that if the

school introduces English Medium then the parents would send their children

to the Govt. School.

With the help of local authorities and the DEO, the Head Master could

introduce English Medium in the school on 12th June, 2013 and 80 students

joined the school immediately. Now the strength is 140 with I to V classes.

The Head Master with the help of the teachers introduced white uniform, tie,

belt, badge etc.
