An adjective describes a noun (person, place, or thing)

For example: The serious student

The cute boy is a serious student

In English, the adjective goes in front of the noun it is describing.

In Spanish, the adjective usually comes after the noun it is describing.

In Spanish, most adjectives change form, depending upon whether the noun they are describing is masculine or feminine

El hombre altoThe tall man

Adjectives also change form depending upon whether the noun they describe is singular or plural.

Many common adjectives end in -o. These adjectives have four forms.

Singular Plural

These adjectives all have four forms like the words above: bonito, gracioso, serio, ambicioso, perezoso, bueno, fantástico, tímido, sincero, honesto, generoso, simpático, americano, chileno, colombiano, cubano, mexicano, puertorriqueño, venezolano, and secundario

The correct form of the adjective depends upon the noun it modifies. Is the noun masculine or feminine? Singular or plural?
