RESOLUTION No. ______________ A RESOLUTION OF THE PINAL COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT TO FILE A GRANT APPLICATION WITH THE NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION SERVICE (NRCS) UNDER THE WATERSHED AND FLOOD PREVENTION OPERATIONS (WFPO) PROGRAM FOR FUNDING OF THE LOWER SANTA ROSA WASH WATERSHED PLAN.
WHEREAS, the Pinal County Flood Control District (District) was established in accordance with provisions of Arizona Revised Statutes Title 48, Chapter 21, which authorizes the Board of Directors of the Pinal County Flood Control District (Board) to apply for grants to obtain federal funds to develop plans and to design, construct, operate and maintain flood control works and storm drainage facilities within or without the District for the benefit of the District; and, WHEREAS, the District has identified a need to develop a watershed plan for the Lower Santa Rosa Wash which will support future efforts to mitigate flooding, provide watershed protection, reduce soil erosion, and to improve groundwater recharge; and, WHEREAS, the District desires to leverage available federal funds from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) by filing a grant application (Grant) to develop the Lower Santa Rosa Wash Watershed Plan; and, WHEREAS, the District desires to develop within the Lower Santa Rosa Wash Watershed Plan which will create opportunities to obtain additional federal funds in the future to support the design and construction of flood control improvements within the Lower Santa Rosa Wash Watershed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the Pinal County Flood Control District authorizes an application to be filed for NRCS Grant funding in support of the Lower Santa Rosa Wash Watershed Plan; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Scott Bender, the County Engineer is authorized and directed to provide signatures on all documents, forms, and paperwork necessary to obtain funding from the NRCS in support of the Lower Santa Rosa Wash Watershed Plan; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Scott Bender, the County Engineer is authorized and directed to allocate in the District’s current and future budget to support the Lower Santa Rosa Wash Watershed Plan, subject to the ratification and approval of this Board; Dated this ______ day of _______, 20____, by the PINAL COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
