Contractor also agrees to obtain fingerprints and tuberculosis skin test as required by the Education Code.

Other than the compensation provided in paragraph 3 herein, Contract shall not be entitled to any other fringe benefits of the District.

5) This Employment Contract can be terminated by District at any time without cause at the sole discretion of the District. Contractor acknowledges and agrees that he/she is employed at will, at the pleasure of the District. Work Schedule: Hours for planning and preparation of program delivery to begin upon contract approval, then dedicating from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., in two shifts (8:00 - 11 :OOam and 12:30 - 3:30pm) Monday-Thursday for the time span of 07/14/2014 to 07/31/2014. Follow-up and evaluation meetings will be required after program delivery. Evening and Saturday times may be required.

Dollar Amount: not to exceed $8500 and will be paid upon completion of the program.

Job Summary: Faculty will work in coordination with the HSI Title V Grant Director and HSI Tutorial Coordinators to deliver information during reinforcement workshops for the EDGE Summer Bridge/ College Readiness Initiative.

Duties and Responsibilities: Faculty will work to plan and outline the English / Reading portion of a Summer Bridge/College Readiness Program to be provided for College of the Desert students entering into remedial English in the fall 2014 semester, deliver information to students reinforcing subject material while preparing students for coming challenges in future coursework and monitor supplemental learning activities taking place during the summer program. In conjunction, faculty will be asked to assist in developing assessments to provide measureable outcomes of the program and report on these outcomes following the conclusion of the program in accordance with federal reporting standards.

Experience Program to provide the following services: A. Attend an orientation session (minimum of one session required) B. Maintain appropriate student records C. Initiate and complete all of the specified components of the program

PROGRAM COMPONENTS: A. Meet with student at campus site to assist in the development of

objectives. Such objectives must be written in a measurable format. B. Visit job-site and meet with student's supervisor. Obtain agreement

with supervisor and student which results in sign-off for objectives on appropriate form.

C. Obtain completed self-evaluation from student at end of course. Visit Supervisor at job site and obtain supervisor's evaluation of student's completion of objectives.

D. Meet with student to finalize evaluation, discuss self-evaluation, and determine if objectives were met. Assign grade to student, using appropriate format.

2. Unless sooner terminated, the term of this employment shall be: September 2,2014 - December 19,2014

3. Employee shall be compensated on the following basis (list salary, etc.):

Upon completion of services compensation shall be by stipend. Such stipend shall be paid at the rate of $160 per student. This amount shall be paid regardless of the number of units of Work Experience in which the student has emolled. The stipend is inclusive and is considered comPensation for all work connected with this assignment. Travel within the District (i.e., travel between work sites) is expected, and reimbursement for mileage at the current rate shall be given for such travel. Payment for services shall occur at the end of the semester. All expectations must be satisfied and paperwork must be completed and submitted to the appropriate offices before payment will be authorized. In the event a student exits the program prior to the end of the semester or the faculty fails to complete the assignment, the stipend will be prorated based upon services rendered. Proration will be based on the program components completed in the semester. Employee understands and acknowledges that this employment is of a temporary nature and does not provide Employee any rights to probationary or tenured status. All Cooperative Work Experience assignments shall be included in the calculation of the Adjunct Facnlty Member's load, which shall not exceed 67% of a full-time faculty load or 10 SIU's per semester.

7) Contractor agrees not to enter into a competitive agreement with any District client from the date of the Agreement until two (2) years after the tennination of this agreement. In consideration of the time and expense invested in District clients, neither will the contractor directly solicit clients while they are still associated with the District and for two years after termination of this agreement.

3) Contractor shall be compensated on the following basis (list salary): $37,OO/Hour 15 Hours Iweek NOT TO EXCEED: $5,000,00

Substitution, if necessary, and one 1-hour meeting per month throughoutthe contract period, ifin attendance, will be paid at the same rate of $37,00Ihour,


4) Contractor understands and acknowledges that this employment is of a temporary nature and does not provide Contractor any rights to probationary or tenure status, Other than the compensation provided in paragraph 3 herein, Contractor shall not be entitled to any other fringe benefits of the District.

5) This Temporary Employment Agreement can be terminated by District at any time without cause at the sole discretion of the District and without further proceedings as permitted by Education Code section 87665, Contractor acknowledges and agrees that he/she is employed at will, at the pleasure of the District. This Employment Contract will be null and void if payroll documents are not completed when applicable and this agreement is not signed by the contractor 10 days prior to the beginning date of employment:

6) All public and training matenals including, but limited to press releases, website information, conference presentations and advertising materials prohibited without pre-approval from the District prior to release. Contractor will assure strict adherence of Distnct guidelines regarding advertisements, promotions, or public information about this program.

3) Contractor shall be compensated on the following basis (list salary): $37.00/Hour 12 Hours Iweek NOT TO EXCEED: $4,750.00


Contraclor shall submit an approved invoice/time sheet for each applicable payroll period/pay day. Contractor agrees to payroll deductions which include: Federal and State taxes, Social Security and Medicare taxes, as may be individually applicable. Contractor also agrees to obtain fingerprints and tuberculosis skin test as required by the Education Code.
