Academic Data 32% of our students in grades 7-8 qualified through Johns Hopkins University to take the ACT’s or SAT’s (scored at the distinguished level on the NECAP assessments).

17 students qualified to take the ACT or SAT. So far, 1 was recognized to receive a State Award with High Honors. Other results are still forthcoming as the testing window has expanded to include April, May and June

An average of 54% of ADL seventh and eighth grade students were on the honor roll for trimesters 1 and 2 (All A’s and B’s). 19% of the students in grades 6-8 received all A’s for trimesters 1 and 2.

Changes Made in 10-11:Longer blocks of teaching time (55 minutes classes in grades 7 & 8)

Foreign language removed from core time for grades 7 & 8, creating the ability for core teachers (LA, Social Studies, Science and Math) to use flexible grouping and scheduling throughout the school year

6th graders asked to provide names of students they’d like to have with them in homeroom for the next two years

Changes Ahead in 11-12:

6th grade schedule will move from an alternating block schedule to students seeing each teacher 4 days of the week for 55 minute classes

Results of 10-11 Action PlanStudent Achievement:

•Identified students double dosed according to need(based on analysis of individual achievement data)•Completed data analysis on math, reading, writing, and science 09-10 NECAP results and year end assessments; made adjustments as needed•Developed a cohort group of special educators, language arts and math teachers who learned about and began to implement co-teaching in the classroom

Equity:•Second year of algebra seminar; collected the following data:60 students (more than 1/2 the 8th grade) began the seminar, 39 finished; 8 students will take algebra again, 31 will take geometry; baseline data shows 15% of enrollment qualified for free and reduced lunch; semester one grades for ADL students enrolled in geometry at EHS as freshmen averaged 93%, the majority of students in Algebra IA and Geometry IA earned A’s and B’s.•By end of June, compile list of students who did not participate in any co/extracurricular activities
