3D Abstract ArtAdobe Photoshop Tutorial

Make something like this with the Pen Tool.

Rasterize the layer.

Fill the object with some gray gradient (Gradient Tool).

Go to Filter > Sketch > Chrome and use these settings. Make a copy of the layer and lock it.

Go to Edit > Transform > Perspective and make something like above by pulling the upper left corner down. Make the background black. Use the locked layer and make some more variations.

Make something like in the picture by duplicating the objects. Select all and go to Edit > Copy Merged. Paste it.

Go to Filter > Blur > Radial Blur. Use the settings in the picture. Do this two times.

Make it a bit lighter with Image > Adjustments > Curves.

Play with the colors with Image > Adjustments > Color Balance. Do the same thing with the objects (merge them first into one layer with CTRL+E). And play with the darkness a bit with Image > Adjustments > Curves.

3D Text

We'llbegin this tutorial, by creating a new canvas with a size of 350 x 200pixels. Make sure the foreground is black, then go ahead and choose thetext tool. I used "Romana BT" bold with a size of 90 pixels. Type "3Dtext".

Now that you have your text, you can now right click on the text layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Bevel and Emboss".use settings at left Do not click "OK" yet. Still more to do.

Lets give it some color now by clicking on the "Color Overlay". I chose red, but you can use whatever color you wish.use settings at left You may now click "OK."

You should now have the below image.

Now for the fun part. While holding in the "Alt"key on the keyboard, press the down arrow (on your keyboard) one time. This will duplicate the text layer and will move the text down onepixel. Now let go of the "Alt" key and move the layer over one pixel to the left. Repeat this process approximately 8 -9 times.

A Little Window...

I've had a few people ask me for a tutorial on the numbered windows that you see in between each step on the tutorial pages, so here it is. Such a small graphic yet one of my longer tutorials.

Here goes...We can begin by selecting the "Rounded Rectangle Tool" and with a radius of 50 draw out the below shape.

Next we will need to move some anchor points. To do this select the "Direct Selection Tool" and select the anchor point on the top left as I have done below. Now, using the arrow keys on your keyboard, move that anchor point to the left nine times as illustrated below. Do this to all four corners.

Now we will create more anchor points to the shape. Select the "Add Anchor Point Tool" and place a new anchor in the middle of all four sides and move them as described above.

Now right click the new shape layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Inner Shadow".use settings at left Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Outer Glow".use settings at left Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Bevel and Emboss".use settings at left Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Color Overlay".use settings at left Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Gradient Overlay".use settings at left You may now click "OK."

You should now have the following:

Now select the "Rounded Rectangle Tool" again and with a radius of 40 draw out the below shape. Make certain that the foreground color is 484747.

Now right click the new shape layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Drop Shadow".use settings at left Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Inner Glow".use settings at left Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Stroke".use settings at left You may now click "OK."

You should now have the following:

Now select the "Rounded Rectangle Tool" again and with a radius of 15 draw out the below shape. Make certain that the foreground color is 636363.
