1939: Germany creates a peace treaty with Russia; Hitler invades and takes

over Poland

1940: The Nazis occupy Denmark, Norway, Holland, Belgium and France. Romania and Yugoslavia are invaded.

1941: Ignoring the peace treaty, Hitler has Germany invade Russia

1942: Under Hitler, almost all of Europe has been taken over by

Germany

1943: Hitler’s over-ambition begins to be too much for him; the United

States begins defeating Germany in key battles

January 1945: Hitler’s thirst for power comes back to bite him; Soviet troops

invade Germany in retaliation for Germany’s breaking of the treaty

April 1945: Hitler’s excessive ambition finally defeats him; having no escape

from hostile forces closing in, he commits suicide by gunshot
