New Initiatives

For the promotion Rooftop Solar Plants in the state of Jharkhand, JREDA is coming up with two new

initiatives:

Jharkhand Solar Rooftop Policy:

Draft Jharkhand State Rooftop Solar Power Policy, 2017, has been released for stakeholders

comments.

Policy Proposes mandatory installation of Rooftop Solar Plant.

Policy has also the provision of Group net metering and virtual net metering.

RESCO Model:

JREDA to release RfP for RESCO Model for finalization of tariff through competitive bidding.

RESCO Model

No upfront investment in solar plant

Reduces electricity bills

Free energy after PPA period.

Consumer gets ownership of the plant at subsidized rate and enjoys free electricity for the

balance life of the solar PV plant
