From the church office about the newsletter mailings. Recently we have had some issues with emailing the newsletter. If you are getting it by email and have not received it, please notify the church office. There is always the option of having it sent to you in the regular mail. We are required by the postal service to have 200 newsletters to receive our bulk mailing pricing,

and we just barely meet that quota. With that in mind, if you would like to receive the newsletter via mail, please contact me. Thanks, Janis

Bloomfield Baptist Family: Words are powerful. Whether written, spoken, or sung, words are powerful and have lasting effects. Words are also a gift from God. We see this from His Word because God uses words to communicate His word to us. As good as words are they can also be used for evil. Here is what Proverbs 10:19-21 says:

“When words are many, transgression is not lack ing, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the heart of the wicked is of little worth. The lips of the right eous feed many, but fools die for lack of sense.” How we use our words reflects what is truly in our hearts and our character. The above passage from Proverbs warns us that when there are many words used it is inevita-ble that sin will take place. On the other hand, Christians ought to use their words for one main purpose; namely, to glorify God. A person who intentionally use his words for the glory of God does the following:

1. He displays wisdom and care in what is said (or written). 2. He displays the value of wisdom in everyday life. 3. He feeds people with the truth of God’s Word in light of the gospel. So again words are powerful. If you use words in reference to someone, if you write an email or post words on Face-book be careful to use your words in light of Scripture. So let each one of us ask this question: how will I use my words this week? In Christ,
