Advanced Refurbishment Contracts Limited is a new and growing business

specialising in building refurbishment and fit out projects. Established in April

2007 we successfully deliver refurbishment and fitout works up to a maximum

of £400,000.

We have a wealth of experience operating in the commercial, education,

leisure, and public sectors. We have a customer focused approach which

delivers a first class service which is why over 90% of our work comes from

satisfied clients and referrals.

Our aim is to continuously develop our relationship with both the clients and

Bar Refurbishment Edinburgh & Livingston

We carried out the bespoke refurbishment of the bars within Edinburgh and Livingston including design

based on the Clients concept and provided practical solutions to form the frameworks.

Edinburgh - work was completed in 3 weeks and within the budget of £20k

Livingston - work was completed in 10 days and within the budget of £25k

Works to the bars included; over-cladding the existing bar, strip out of gantry and formation and

installation of bespoke replacement, formation and installation of bespoke glass bonded shelving,

custom lighting to highlight the area, granite counter top, new flooring and decoration.

Kilmarnock College

Working in partnership with industry leading HAA Design architect we supplied the complete

refurbishment requirement Kilmarnock College. The works entailed the complete refurbishment of the

Reception, and the creation of the new Management suite, Principals Office and Student New Meeting

Facilities. We also manufactured the Bespoke Workstations Reception Counters and Computer

Stations for students.

Project Value was £252k and completed within the 10 week period.

The major works comprised of frameless Glass partitioning systems and solid partitioning, curved

meeting areas, new ceilings, complete rewire and lighting installation, ventilation, decoration and floor

finishes.

Thistle Hotel – Café

Advanced Refurbishment carried out the refurbishment to the Café area within the Thistle Hotel,

Glasgow.

The work was completed in 5 weeks and within the budget of £42k

Work content involved opening through structural wall, structural steel installation, removal of raised

floors, formation of new floor levels, wall cladding, lighting, flooring, decoration and alteration to bar

servery area.

Paisley Museum Pillar Gallery & Shawl Store

The works comprised of the replacement and repair of existing antique cornice in various locations. The

installation of space age technology insulation foil to the high ceiling and relining with plasterboard and

timber framing to create detailed finish to the ceiling.

Painting of the walls and ceiling highlighting the details in different colours, sanding the existing wooden

floor and resealing to finish the look. We also formed and decorated bespoke covers for the original

heating system that is located within the room.

The picture below shows the level of detail and quality of the finish in creating the hardwood veneered

panels with the famous Paisley pattern carved into the covers. These covers where machined on site

and constructed to suit each area. Our joiners worked hard to create these units and are now

considered as works of art on display within the museum.

North Lanarkshire Council – Dalziel High School

The woks involved the construction of a new fitness suite within the confines of a central courtyard. We

carried out these works during the school year and within normal working hours. We managed to work

around the live environment by adhering to the school tea and lunch breaks for deliveries of materials,

loading up the site and removing debris.

Project Value was £256k and completed within the 8 week period.

The works comprised of the construction of a timber kit extension with brickwork and render to the

external leaf, re-routing the existing soil & foul drainage systems and extending to suit new toilets and

shower rooms. The installation of Cemex beam and block floor systems with a self-levelling granite

screed and underfloor heating, JJI roof joist system and flat roof installation as well as repairs to existing

slated roof. We installed new doors, windows and toilet, shower and changing facilities. New electrics,

flooring, wall and ceiling finishes throughout.

North Lanarkshire Council – Dalziel High School

One Stop Shop, Clydebank

Advanced Refurbishment carried out the refurbishment of the offices, interview rooms and bank kiosks

for West Dunbartonshire Council.

The work was completed in 8 weeks and within the budget of £90k

Work content involved the formation new openings through concrete wall, formation of Oak framed

glass fronted offices, solid partitions, new entrance screen, alterations to AC and electrics, flooring,

decoration and installation of client supplied bespoke furniture.

Clyde Space, West of Scotland Science Park, Glasgow

Alteration works to form a new clean room facility and changing facility for the creation of their

successful UKube-1's satellite which went into orbit February 2013 becoming the first Scottish Satellite.

Our works was to create the partitioning system to form the dirty to clean changing facility and to create

the clean room partition where the satellite was constructed and tested. Works included a sealed

suspended ceiling and installation of a specialist air filtration system. Total Value £22k

Central Scotland Forrest Trust

We carried out the refurbishment & alteration to the CSFT offices in Shotts, part of which is a listed

building.

Project Value was £230k and completed within the 16 week period.

The works included re-roofing in slate, lead-work and cast iron downpipes to match existing. We also

carried out full internal alteration including new electrics and plumbing throughout, decoration, flooring,

adjustments to existing timber cladding panels and formation of new to match existing, new doors and

windows including electrically operated roof lights and disconnection of the existing sewage tank and

creating of a new weed bed draining system formed from 45m of drainage pipework

Larkhall Leisure Centre

The works carried out on behalf of South Lanarkshire Council involved

replacing the filtration system to the swimming pool and the

refurbishment of the changing facilities.

The work comprised of supporting the adjustable height floor to the

swimming pool prior to draining all water, the 12” asbestos filtration

pipework removal and various walls contaminated with Asbestos to

form a new back corridor to the swimming pool plant room. The

supply and installation of new filtration pipework and the refill of the

pool.

Other works included the complete strip out of the pool side changing

facility and replacement of the changing cubicles, lockers, retiling the

floor and replacement the drainage channels.

Brighton Parish Church

We carried out the refurbishment works within the

church hall and toilets.

Project Value was £151k and completed within the 12

week period.

The works included new partitions including creating a

fire corridor, new gas meter, suspended ceilings, new

fire doors, full electrical re-wiring and replacement

fittings, decoration and new flooring throughout. We

installed new cubicles, IPS system and vanity units

within the bathrooms and new WHB’s, WC’s and

fixtures.

Howco Ltd

Advanced Refurbishment is proud to present the new offices in the GMB building at Charing Cross.

The work was completed in 6 weeks and within budget of £108k.

Work content involved the formation of frameless glass fronted offices, curved partitions to reception

with solid Walnut finishing details, no expense was spared with the level of finishes.

Alteration works to existing toilets created DDA compliant toilet and shower facilities.

Renfrewshire Council Headquarters Cotton Street Paisley

Over the past year we have been successfully completing under Competitive tendering and the councils

Procurement legislation rules for the refurbishment of the Perimeter replacement wall insulation to all

floors, then office refurbishment to 4th, 3rd ,2nd ground and lower ground floors

Each project has been won by Advanced Refurbishment contracts successfully under the council’s strict

competitive tendering rules

The total value of these projects completed in the past year is approximately £491k ,we have worked in

close proximity to the functioning areas of the council employees and have managed to work

successfully around getting materials on site and debris from site without affecting the daily work of the

building occupants.

Turner Group

Working in conjunction with industry leading architectural practice Mclean Architects Ltd we supplied

the complete furniture requirement for over 100 staff in this converted diesel engine workshop. We

provided ‘Bench’ workstations and furniture for all other areas including the interactive boardroom and

meeting rooms, storage systems, breakout areas, management suites and the staff refectory. All

workstations are self contained with full power and data facilities including flat screen monitors and

suspended CPU units. Project Value £140k.

Since this installation we have continued to work with Turners

to meet their furniture requirements.
