Project files – a closer look
Projects store specifications
Components are added to a spec from the base catalog
What is a base catalogs
Projects can reference a catalog
There are many different ways to populate projects
Create new spec
Import a legacy spec
Drag and drop a spec from another project
Import a spec from another system
Default project settings for specs
Default component descriptions and part number sequences can be added globally to
a project. These default settings carry over to new specifications.
Define a branch table
Each specification has a branch table

Things to be aware of…
BEST WORK PRACTICES
First create a catalog
Create the catalog from blank instead of import
(There will be no duplicate data if catalog is created from scratch)
C2 OUT/IN works with the same release components
RATING SECTION IN PROJECT SPEC
This is available for future reports
CONVERTENHANCED (CEE)
Displays enhanced mode
CONVERTFROMPRJDATA
Updates to latest data from project/catalog
A temporary fix is to open a different drawing
CWEXPLODE
Will convert CADWorx components to AutoCAD 3D solids
LEGACY CONVERT
