    4.2.2.1 BIOS setup

    4.3 Modifying the BIOS configuration

    4.3.1 Changing BIOS settings

    in the BIOS Setup menu.

By clicking on the + symbol, the tree can be expanded further. Clicking the - symbol

Individual items can be selected by clicking on them. The respective default value,

visibility selection and help text on the right side will be updated. If the item is

writable, the default value and/or the visibility can be changed:

As soon as the value or the visibility have been changed from the default setting, the

item in the tree list is highlighted in red to allow tracking of changed settings:

Another option is to change the visibility of a BIOS setup item, with the result that it

will either be shown or hidden in the BIOS Setup menu:

4.3.2 Changing the OEM image The OEM image is the picture/logo that will be displayed on the POST screen.

By setting the BIOS option “Boot” → “Quiet Boot” → “Enabled” the selected OEM

logo picture is shown on the monitor during boot-up:

By selecting the “OEM image” tab of the main working area, the currently used image

is shown (if applicable). If no OEM image is used, nothing is shown (area remains

    white).

    to 800 x 600 pixels are supported.

To have no OEM image on the post screen load an empty picture.

    picture file (with appropriate metadata).

    6. FAQ / TROUBLESHOOTING

6.1 ”Weird” BIOS setup items Some setup items do not contain meaningful content. This is not caused by Advantech

BIOS Wizard, but is an exact representation of the BIOS image content. The

Advantech BIOS Wizard parses and transparently displays all of the setup items

    without modifying them.

Those setup items have their purpose in the BIOS image itself, but should simply be

ignored in the Advantech BIOS Wizard.

Here are some of those examples: 6. multiple entries with “N/A” and identical “Default value” options and even identical help

    text:

    7. plain text is stored as several items/entries:
