About German Dual Vocational Training

The need of competent and highly-skilled workers is growing rapidly. In addressing this issue, the Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC) in cooperation with

the Department of Skills Development of the Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR), the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) and the Penang Skills Development Center (PSDC) has implemented the German Dual Vocational

Training (GDVT) program in Malaysia in June 2014 based on German training standards, a combination of 30% theoretical and 70% practical training.

Companies joining the programme have the opportunity to create a pool of qualified professionals with practical skills and competencies paired with sound theoretical knowledge. Thus, the private sector will be able to leverage on industry-specific skills and qualifications acquired mainly in a corporate environment and actual and genuine

commercial processes. Participation in the programme will also reduce recruitment and settling-in cost as well as make it easier for companies to retain their talents through the identification of the trainees with the company, its

products and strategies.

Precision Machining:

Mechatronics is a blend of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer control and information technology. Mechatronics engineering combines aspects of mechanical, electronic, and computer engineering in order to increase efficiency in the production and function of manufactured goods. Trainees study aspects of fluid mechanics, control theory, and computer programming.

Responsibility includes the adaptation or adjustment of electronic assemblies and equipment. If malfunctions occur, you employ measuring and testing appliances to find the cause and rectify any faults. During the development of new assemblies, electronics technicians are involved in the production of prototypes and repetition parts as well as in quality assurance

Responsibilities are to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Includes precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures

The areas of training cover all important fields of order Sourcing and processing, marketing and sales, purchasing and stockpiling, materials management, HR Planning, transport and logistics and finance & controlling

The Logistics Manager has to organize and manage the transportation of the goods, handle storage and stockpiling, consolidate shipments and arrange insurance coverage, constantly gain knowledge on customs and foreign trade regulations and INCOTERMS and advice on transports and connections
