We test and document your solutions

In our advanced sound laboratory in Farum,

Denmark, we constantly work to reduce ventilation

noise as much as possible. The sound laboratory

enables us to conduct full-scale tests for you to

ensure correct dimensioning and allow you to create

the best possible sound conditions in the room –

even under very special circumstances.

When you implement a solution, you need to be

sure that the quality is right. That is why tests and

documentation of sound and silencing are important

to us when developing new functional products.

No job is too small or too big for Lindab. We can

help you with very simple products and complex

dimensioning jobs to enhance your solution from

start to finish.

Calculate sound

You can, of course, dimension

Aerodim™ using Lindab’s IT

programs DIMsilencer and

CADvent. Using DIMsilencer

you can dimension the

optimum silencer based on

specified requirements. You

can quickly do a comparison of

different suggested solutions.

CADvent gives you access

to calculation and dimensioning options where

Lindab’s ventilation components can be used as an

integrated part of the 3D work. The components can

be inserted directly in the drawing to ensure that the

ventilation diagrams contain the right components

from the start. Download the latest version of the

programs at www.lindab.com.

The sound inside – the climate’s third dimension

A good indoor climate should be a natural part of everyday life. The

optimum indoor climate exists when a room has the optimum air

humidity and the optimum air temperature. But for most people there is

one more thing that determines whether we feel comfortable indoors:

sound.

AerodimTM optimises both sound, pressure

and dimensions

Lindab regards sound as the indoor climate’s third

dimension because good acoustics and a low noise

level are crucial to how we experience the indoor

climate. Sound must be sweet music to our ears and

not distracting noise that bothers us. A ventilation

solution must therefore be more than effective, it must be

quiet – like Aerodim™. Aerodim™ is a silencer based on a

newly developed silencer baffle with an aerodynamic shape

that can reduce sound by half. The fan accurately controls the amount of air and the speed with which it is led through the system. The fan is located centrally on the lower floor, and both sides are wrapped in a double layer of sound-absorbing materials.

The reverberant chamber complies with the requirements of ISO 3741 for measuring sound effects from 100 Hz to 10,000 Hz. The sound pressure is measured using a Brüel & Kjær microphone mounted on a rotating bar.

The absorption material in Aerodim™ is Lindtec™, which is easy to clean and fibre-proof.

In the sound laboratory, the tests are monitored throughout the process. The control panel continuously collects all the measuring results for subsequent processing using the custom-designed software.

The CFD simulation image on the left shows the sound pressure profile for the newly developed Aerodim™ silencer with considerably less pressure loss than the traditional silencer.

A unique solution

We make it easy for you

With Aerodim™ you can either reduce the sound by

half, achieve 40% less pressure loss or reduce the

dimensions of the solution.

When you need to dimension new silencers in

future, you can reduce the dimensions by using

Aerodim™ with the same pressure loss and silencing

as before. Aerodim™ also ensures low inherent noise –

which is an added benefit when choosing a silencer.

If you renovate an existing duct system with

Aerodim™ and thereby use the same dimensions as

before, you can reduce the sound by half or reduce the

pressure loss by up to 40%, resulting in considerably

lower energy consumption. This means that you can

achieve a significantly lower SFP value.

At Lindab we are constantly working to simplify and

improve our solutions. Aerodim™ makes dimensioning

and logistics easier than before. Aerodim™ fits all

rectangular ducts, so in future you only need one

type of baffle with a thickness of 200 mm. With this

thickness and the varying column widths we offer,

we now cover the entire range of silencers which

previously required a much larger number of variants.

At the same time, Aerodim™ is just as easy to

install as Lindab’s existing silencers, and it makes

cleaning easier. The absorption material in Aerodim™

consists of Lindtec™, mineral wool with a surface that

is easy to clean. It is a cleanable, robust material.

When you dimension with Aerodim™, you can use smaller dimensions and perhaps save the connectors between the silencer and the ducts. It facilitates installation and is more economical. Aerodim™ is also suitable for equipment rooms where space is at a premium.
