e Accu-Lok® blind astening system is

signed specically or use in compos-

structures. It provides a large blind

de upset that distributes the through-

ckness clamping orce o a joint over

arge bearing area. The large blind side

pset enables the astener to exert a

ry high clamping orce to the struc-

re without damaging the composite

aterial. The Accu-Lok II® and Accu-Lok

® are available with the Dryv-Cap™

on-threaded installation system. The

yv-Cap™ is a disposable driver that

ositively engages the driving recess in

e astener and eliminates the wear as-

ciated with conventional drivers.

Alcoa Fastening Systems oers a wide

variety o high perormance blind rivets.

Blind rivets are ideally suited or use

in structures where access is limited.

However, their reliability and ease o use

make them a great alternative to solid

rivets in many dierent applications.

Alcoa Fastening Systems’heritage ex-

ceeds over 50 years in providing a large

selection o high perormance blind

rivets that are the asteners o choice or

countless applications.

The UNIMATIC® blind rivet system is a

general purpose blind rivet or aero-

space applications. The bulbed blind

head, mechanically-locked spindle and

unique hole-illing eatures provide

higher reliability and strength than

comparable blind rivets. This system

meets or exceeds all o the rigorous

design and perormance requirements

detailed in NAS1900, NAS1919, and

NAS1921 specications. The simplied

single action installation o these blind

rivets permits the use o lightweight,

reliable installation tools. The all-alumi-

num version o this system provides ex-

tremely lightweight high perormance,

while the monel and stainless steel

versions o this system provide high

strength perormance even at elevated

temperatures, as well as superb corro-

sion resistance.

The HuckMAX® blind rivet system is a

general purpose blind astening system

that combines important eatures o

convenience. The system meets or

exceeds all applicable requirements o

industry specications NAS1686 and

NAS1687. In addition to high peror-

mance, the design o the HuckMAX®

blind rivet system is such that only one

tool is needed to install any diameter.

This reduces the cost o assembly, and

makes this astener ideal or repair and

tension head congurations. Its corebolt

breaks ush with the top o the sleeve in

all grip conditions. The one-piece sleeve

conguration and no threads in bearing

result in high structural integrity and

high-retained clamp-up. Lightweight

ergonomic tools are available to install

the system. The Ergo-Tech is also ideal

or robotic installation.

The Visu-Lok® blind astening system is

designed specically or use in metal-

lic structures. It provides versatility and

security or numerous applications

and assures the highest shear, tensile,

atigue, and sel-locking capabilities.

When installed, it orms a solid, blindside head, with guaranteed minimum

preload levels. The Visu-Lok® II utilizes a

disposable hex drive nut which remains

on the discarded pintail ollowing instal-

lation, and eliminates cam-out condi-

tions or the operator.

The MS blind bolt is designed or both

metallic and composite structures. It is a

high-strength, vibration-resistant, cost-

eective astener designed to meet the

most challenging blind applications.

This amily o blind bolts has been used

successully in many critical areas such

as engine inlets and leading edge

applications.

The TI-MATIC® blind bolt has all o the

beneits o the MS Blind Bolt with the

added advantage o being lightweight

due to its use o titanium materials. The

large bulb that is ormed during installa-

tion makes this astener ideal or use in

composite structures.

The UAB™ blind bolt builds on the prov-

en reliability and perormance o the MS

blind bolt by simpliying the installation

process. One tool installs three dierent

diameters, reducing tooling costs and

acilitating robotic installation. The in-stalled astener provides greater spindle

lushness or improved aerodynamic

perormance and cosmetic appear-

ance. In addition, the blind side bulb

o the astener is enhanced to provide

additional grip overlap and improved

perormance on sloped suraces.

ng Locked luid boss adapters are

signed with a captive lockring that

cures the adapter to the boss and

events loosening or backing-o under

vere vibration, temperature cycling,

or B-nut installation and removal. While

considered semi-permanent, the adapt-

ers can quickly and easily be removed

and replaced. Due to their small enve-

lope, these adapters are signiicantly

lighter than hex unions, resulting in

weight reduction o the hydraulic pack-

age system. Standard tube-end con-

gurations consist o beam seal, ared,

and areless. Variations o the standard

design include reducers, expanders,

port plugs, and solids.

Ring Locked luid boss inserts are

used in initial designs or to repair dam-aged ports. These products are able to

provide high-strength suraces in which

unions are installed. A separate lockring

secures the insert to the boss, thus pre-

venting loosening or backing-o under

severe vibration, temperature cycling, or

tting installation and removal.

Standard ttings are used throughout

the military and commercial aerospace

markets. Straight and shaped ttings

are available in a variety o congura-

tions with both 37° lared and 24°

fareless tube-ends. Other tube-end

congurations include ball-nose, o-ring

seal, pipe, bump, and weldable. Port

plugs, sleeves, nuts, bushings, caps, and

errules are available to complement all

port congurations. Shaped products

include 45º and 90º elbows, tees, cross-

es, swivels, and other unique congura-

tions that meet special customer needs.

Conical or metallic seals eectively

prevent leakage in critical applications.

sealing suraces or misalignment, as

well as non-concentric conditions. The

seals are easy to install and are eective

in sealing light gases under extreme

temperature and pressure conditions.

Conical seals are designed to mate

with 37º ared and areless tube-end

congurations.

Alcoa Fastening Systems also designs and

manuactures a variety o special fuid

products that meet specic customer

design challenges. Some o these products

include the characteristic “Ring-locked”

principle. Other products such as low

proile 90º swivel boss adapter, ripple

damper, bulkhead, and Klutch-Klip have

been developed over the years.

derable weight savings, superior

rrosion resistance, and high strength-

-weight ratios may be gained. Con-

urations include hex,12-point, hook,

head, slab head and spline head.

The developme nt o the irst lock bolt

astener was pioneered in the mid

1940s. Since that revolutionary design,

which greatly simpliied the assembly

o structure, Alcoa Fastening Systems

has led the way with innovative designs

that have been instrumental in improv-

ing structural integrity and reducing

manuacturing costs around the world.

Products are available in both unied

and metric sizes. Installation tool sys-

tems are also oered.

NAS lockbolts are available in a num-

ber o materials and conigurations

designed to meet the most demanding

application requirements. The collar,

swaged into the lock grooves o the

pin, orms a high-strength, vibration-

resistant joint.

The GP™ and LGP® lockbolt amilies

improved on the NAS lockbolt amily by

optimizing the lock groove design. This

optimization makes the GP™ and LGP®

lockbolt system signicantly lighter than

comparable threaded astening systems.

 The HUCKCOMP® lockbolt astener is

a high-strength, lightweight astener

intended or use in composite material

applications. The anged titanium collar

enhances joint integrity by spreading

a high clamp load over a large area,

thereby reducing the bearing stress ap-

plied to the composite material.

 The HUCKTITE®  lockbolt system has

our eatures that are especially needed

in composite structure joints: decreased

water absorption, improved uel tight-

driver can remove the astener. The

Torx® and Torx Plus® recesses provide

reduced risk o both recess damage

during installation, and damage to the

structure when asteners are removed.

 The conical Connie® Hi-Torque recess

and is ideally suited to handle the stress-

es o hostile environments.

ness, and enhanced atigue peror-

mance and electrical continuity. These

eatures make it the system o choice in the

most demanding composite applications.

The LHP™ lockbolt has all o the

benets o the HUCKCOMP® lockbolt

astener with the added benets o

higher temperature perormance and

enhanced atigue strength. These

bene its are the result o the unique lock

groove conguration and collar design o

this system.

The XPL® lockbolt is the latest addition

to the Alcoa Fastening Systems lockbolt

amily. With a grip range that is more

than twice that o other systems, each

part number can be used in more than

twice the applications. This means ewer

part numbers to inventory. The wide se-

lection o materials and diameters make

the XPL® the most versatile lockbolt

system ever.

 The Flite-Tite® sleeved-threaded

lockbolt is designed specically or

composite skin applications where

electrical conductivity is paramount,

such as in applications subject to

lightning strikes. The Flite-Tite® system

uses a stainless steel or titanium sleeve

Styles include sel-retaining and sel-

wrenching. Custom designs are also

available to meet our customers’exact-

ing requirements.

The selection o recess drives available

on Alcoa Fastening Systems’externally

threaded products is comprehensive.

The popular Phillips® ACR® drive with

its cam-out resistant eatures is just

the beginning. The Torq-Set® recess

t in a hole. The sleeves can be activated

by various means, including the use o a

nut or bolt or torque, or other mecha-

nisms such as a wrap around handle cam.

These asteners provide a rigid structural

 joint. The radial tightness minimizes

vibration and cyclic atigue loads, and

helps resist shock loads. EDFs are avail-

able in a variety o materials and nishes

or extreme corrosive or high tempera-

ture environments.

tions. Clamping orce can be innitely

adjustable within maximum recom-

mended torque limits and no urther

load is applied during installation. The

Asp® astener has a positive mechani-

cal lock or use in vibration and FOD

critical installations. It installs quickly

and easily, thus eliminating the need or

potting, bushings, inserts, or stepped

hole preparation.

tie and brake bolts; thrust reverser and

leading edge slat pins; adjusters; bush-

ings; washers; nuts; inserts; and luid

ittings – as well as many other types

o parts.
