Login to APU Faculty Database
Please find access from the International Cooperation and Research Division/Research Office website
(http://en.apu.ac.jp/researchsupport).

3. Faculty Database Page (from a list of Our Faculty to the page of each individual faculty)
Login by entering your User ID and Password (the same as your APU Mail Account).
Enter User ID.
Enter Password.
Click on the ‘Login’ Button.

Main Menu
This is the Main Menu screen of the APU Faculty Database.
You can enter information and print documents from here.
Function menus are displayed here.
Messages from the administrator will be shown
here.

Edit your academic profile
Basic user interface of editing screen
Items to edit are shown on your left, and the contents of the selected item will be on your right.
You can check how your academic
profile will be displayed on the APU
Official Homepage.
List of the items you can edit.
By clicking on an item, its current contents will be shown on the
right.
You can switch to the previous/next items.

Each icon shows who will have access to the information
entered.

Disclosure Settings
You can customize disclosure settings of your information.
This is a general setting. You can also decide whether to disclose or not item by item.

Screen that shows the current data
By clicking each heading, the sort order will be switched between
ascending and descending.
When disclosed, the items will be sorted first by the
Display Order and then by date.

Register, update and delete your profile records
Screen where you enter the data
You can add a new record by clicking on the
‘Add’ button, and change/delete it by clicking
on ‘Update’.
You can download a whole list of items.
To go to the download page, please click on ‘Upload & Download’.
You can set/update the sort order from the item list pages.
1. Enter a number in ‘Display Order’.

Upload & Download
You can download a whole list of items as an Excel file.
You can also update all the items by uploading an Excel file in the same format.
To upload, please select the file
and click on ‘Update’.
Please click on ‘Download’.
Please specify the period for which items are to be downloaded.

Enter profile records
‘Add’ / ‘Update’: the entered information will be added/updated.
‘Back’: Back to the item list screen without updating.
* marked items are required.
Please select the disclosure flag.

You can add font formatting to text in items equipped with the Font Formatting buttons

marks will be entered before/after the selected text.

Items that you cannot add/update records
If the ‘Add’ or ‘Update’ buttons are not active, such items can be updated only by the administrators.

Download and Print the records
There are two ways to access this.
The data format is the same in both ways.
How to Download/Print - 1: from Main Menu

By clicking on one of the items, you can
download/print an Excel file of the
specified item.

If you would like to end this application, please click on Logout.
You will be back to the Login screen.
Please close the login window as well by clicking the ‘X’ button of the window.

Transferring to researchmap
Information disclosure settings
Please check “Yes” to “Send to researchmap”.

Please confirm whether your researchmap Researcher Code has been entered.
Please enter the code if this has not been done.

Transfering data to researchmap
Please click on the “Update researchmap Data” button to transfer data to researchmap.
The data will be updated after a confirmation message.
※All data in the APU Faculty Database will be updated to researchmap.
Please note that any entries that are recorded only with researchmap but not with the APU Faculty Database
will be ERASED when updating. For this reason, please ensure that the data in APU Faculty Database is
complete before transferring to researchmap.

Importing from an external database
Please click on the “Import From External DB” button and the search targets will be displayed.
This import function can be used for “Books and theses”.

Search targets
1. Please select the relevant database.

search word/phrase.

The search results will be displayed in a separate window.

Confirmation upon importing
Please be sure to check the imported item by clicking on the “Update” button and enter manually any fields that
remain blank.
※In particular, the printed formats and your profile on the APU Official Homepage may not be displayed
properly if any of the required fields remains blank. In addition, please enter all required fields since a
warning message may be displayed if a required field remains blank.

Exclusion function
By choosing the registration type of “Not selected results will be registered in the exclusion list” and clicking on
the “Add” button, the publications which have not been selected will be added to the exclusion list and not appear
in subsequent searches.
If publications have been added to the exclusion list mistakenly, please choose either “Including the exclusion” or
“Exclusion only” under “Exclusion display”. The publications which have been added to the exclusion list will be
displayed.

Crawling function
Upon setting the search conditions, search by external database(s) will be conducted automatically at regular
intervals and notices will be displayed on the Main Menu when new publications are found.

Notification of search results
Upon conducting crawling, the number of new publications will be displayed under the Main Menu if applicable.
※The numbers will be cleared once each of the newly found publications has been confirmed upon clicking on
the “Add/Check” button.
The search results will be displayed upon clicking on
the respective number of publications.

Search results
Please select from the search results your own publications and proceed with updating the details.
If none of your publication is displayed, please click on the “Add/Check” button without selecting anything. The
list of publications displayed will be cleared.
