WHO ARE WE? AFC!Welcome to 2015

On a different kind of pitch...

"Goodluck to all Squirts, Juniors &Seniors who play their first 2015season fixture this weekend. We're looking forward to a great2015 season together."

A very big thank you to Club Greenslopesfor the wonderful services they provided, including the bowls, tasty pizzas, affordable drinks, and very friendly staff.

Thank you also to all of the players thatattended for making it such anentertaining afternoon, and we lookforward to organising another event verysoon!

-Senior Women's Social Committee

Last weekend the Annerley SeniorWomen's teams enjoyed their first socialevent of the season. Players from all ofour women's teams, from City LeagueDivision 5 through to our BWPL squad, appreciated the opportunity to get toknow one another better over anafternoon of barefoot bowls and cheekybeverages at Club Greenslopes.

Our reigning Miss Annerley, Emily Simms, also relished the chance to preside overthe event with her trusty sash as sheenthusiastically demonstrated her uniquebowling skills.

Although none of us will be making theswitch from football to competitive lawnbowls anytime soon, it was a lot of fungetting out there on the green and havinga go.

Coach's Corner! with Rob Monteverde

Results...Last week the Senior Men lost 2 – 3 to BrisbaneKnights. The Reserves game was abandonedafter the lights went out due to an Energexfault.

Welcome to start of a new season.City One, Two and Four have been training forthe past 8 weeks. City Three for approximately4 weeks (traditionally late starters).

This year we welcome a big influx of newplayers from other clubs and overseas, whichis good and was required as many of lastyear’s players have left for a multitude ofreasons.

We all start our fixtures this week andhopefully our preparation will be enough toensure we get a good start, but I do know thatwe will all improve on our performances thisweek as players get to know each other andunderstand the Annerley "Philosophy".

Anyway, I wish luck to all of the City Teams, theWomen’s Teams and Capital One and reservesMen’s teams, as we strive to maintain theexcellence that is Annerley Football Club.

"We’re blue, We’re white... We’re DYNAMITE"

Rob MonteverdeMen’s City League Co-ordinator &Men’s Vice President
