Shoreline Substantial Development Permit & Land Use Variance: The City of Puyallup is proposing to perform upgrades to the existing City of Puyallup North Levee Road pump station. Upgrades include replacing the existing 8’ tall fence with a 10’ tall fence (for which a Land Use Variance for exceeding allowed fence height is being sought); expanding the existing generator building and replacing its roof; and converting the existing wet well into a submersible pump station. Improvements will increase the capacity of the pump station to satisfy the projected capacity needs for the system through 2040.

Project Information:The Tacoma School District is requesting qualifications from Contractors inter-ested in providing Design/Build (D/B) services for the Safety and Security Up-grades Bundle project. The Alternative Public Works contracting procedure au-thorized in RCW 39.10.300 through 39.10.330 will be utilized for this project. This project will utilize the Progressive Design/Build delivery method. Contractors with previous design/build experience or experience using a similar alternative construction delivery format are encouraged to submit.During the project, the Design/Builder will receive overall direction from des-ignated representatives in the Tacoma Public Schools (TPS) Planning & Con-struction Office and will work collaboratively as a member of a team to achieve project objectives. In addition to staff from the TPS Planning and Construction Office, this team may include representatives from other District departments, the Design/Build Consultant (Parametrix), other district consultants and mem-bers from the community. This project will be to design and construct retrofit safety and security upgrades for multiple school sites across the District. Generally, the scope of work will in-clude, but is not limited to, design, construction and integration of secure build-ing entry systems, building access control systems, intrusion detection systems, intercom systems, CCTV systems and related infrastructure. The design and construction budget for this project is approximately $6,250,000. The District reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to increase or decrease the scope, value and duration of this project and the related contract.
