262 Receiver Installation Guide
262 receiver & screen notes:
Note: The VRS solution is not supported for the 252 receiver. Before starting ensure the 262 receiver is upgraded to an RTK level and has version 2 software or later, the touch screen must have version 25 software or later. To use the VRS solution the intended user must have a VRS NOW™ user account. To do this log on to: https://vrsnowstore.trimble.com/default.aspx?region=AGB and select "create account". Once an account has been created a SIM card will be shipped before making the installation contact VRS NOW™ support +4981027433500 to ensure the SIM card is activated to receive data.

SIM card installation, cable connection:
• To install the SIM card, open the
back of the modem. Loosen the
screw enough so that the modem
SIM card cover (1) can be opened.
• Open the SIM card‐holder (2),
Insert the SIM card in the slot and
lock the holder then close the
cover.
• To connect to the modem:
Unscrew the lock collar (3), so that
the cover (4) can be pulled
backwards then connect to the
modem.

• To disconnect the cable from the
modem: Unscrew the lock collar
(5), so that the cover (6) can be
pulled backwards then with a
screwdriver push the lock (7) pull
out the connector

Configuration: • Connect the 262 receiver and
modem and previously described.
• Go to the Home Screen and select 'Toolbox ‐ GPS Setup'. DGPS type (1) and select RTK as shown in figure 1. A 'RTK Source' option will then appear in the lower left corner of the screen (2), select 'AG 3000 modem'. Once selected further configuration options will appear to allow for VRS provider‐settings to be entered.
• Pressing the 'Edit' icon (3) in the 'AG 3000 Setup' menu will allow VRS settings to be entered.
• Enter the UK VRS settings as shown in 'Figure 2' exactly as shown . AG 3000 Setup 'User Name' (4) and 'Password' (5) will be provided once an user account has been set up.
Note: The entry details for the AG 3000 Setup (Figure 2) menu are case sensitive and need to be entered as show.
• Once completed select the 'OK' icon in the 'AG 3000 Setup' once the entry details are complete scroll down to edit 'GPRS Settings' (6) select the Edit Icon to enter the SIM card information.

• Enter the SIM card settings as shown. CPIN (7) is only used if there is a PIN Code for the SIM card (N/A for provided SIM card).
• Once completed navigate to 'GPS Status' (Toolbox/GPS Status) the 'GPRS Status' (8) will indicate whether the VRS correction is being received. If working then 'Initializing' (9) will appear first then 'Connected' (10) will appear as shown in Figure 7.
Note: There is a known communication concern between the AG 3000 and the 262 (V2 firmware). Confirm the settings through the touch screen or Ag Remote/RDI, further confirmation can be made by checking the GPS‐led on the AG 3000 modem which should be illuminated continuously. If the settings have not been configured correctly or the GPS‐led on the AG 3000 modem is flashing then configuration using the NTRIP_cfg‐tool (programme) will be required, a request for this programme must be made through ASIST.

APN configuration for 262 (V2 firmware) with NTRIP Tool
Connect the AG 3000 modem to the EST to use the NTRIP Tool as shown below:
• Disconnect cable ZTN75448 (1) from the 262 and connect diagnostic cables 380002886/380002422 for AG 3000 modem to EST connection.
• Normal connection (2) between 262 and AG 3000 modem (Brown connectors)
• Cable ZTN70433 (3) not required

Load programme onto the EST once
completed open the tool NTRIP_cfg.exe
• Ensure all cables are connected (as previously illustrated) and then press the 'Connect To AG 3000' icon (1) as shown in 'Figure 12'
• Once connected, select the Internet Base (2) and Cellular (3) tabs and check the settings if incorrect change them.

• The settings shown in figure 14, Username (4) and Password (5) will be provided once an user account has been set up.
Note: All letters are case sensitive and must be entered as shown.
• If there is a PIN number for the SIM Card then is must be entered into the box shown (6).

EZ Guide 500 installation notes
Before connecting the AG 3000 modem ensure the EZ Guide 500 has been upgraded to the RTK level and has firmware version 5.10 or later. To check firmware version, select the 'Configuration Icon' and select 'About The EZ Guide'. To use the VRS solution the intended user must have a VRS NOW™ user account. To do this log on to https://vrsnowstore.trimble.com/default.aspx?region=AGB and select "create account". Configuration:
• From the main guidance screen,
select the configuration icon and then press OK. The "Configuration" screen appears.
• Ensure that the user mode is set to
"Advanced".
• Select System / GPS / GPS Setup:
• In the GPS Correction Source screen, select RTK:
• In the Correction Delivery screen, select Trimble VRS Modem:
Note: To continue through the rest of the setup wizard, you must have the AG 3000 modem connected and turned on.
• A screen warning that there must be a distance of at least 20 cm (8 inches) between operator and the antenna at all times:
• Press OK. The VRS Network Info

• To change the GPRS settings:
• Scroll down and then select Edit GPRS Settings:
• In the Edit GPRS Settings screen, edit the settings as required:

• When you are done, press OK.

• Enter the UK VRS settings using the virtual keyboard.
• Verify the information you have
entered on the VRS Status screen:
• When the Connection status shows 'Logged in', a successful connection has been made and you should be receiving RTK position information.
• Press OK to complete the wizard.
• The information tab on the main screen shows the status of the VRS connection:
VRS Logged In to indicate a successful connection to the VRS server, which indicates that you are receiving corrections. Bars indicate cell signal strength.

FM‐1000 installation notes
Before connecting the AG 3000 modem ensure the FM‐1000 has been upgraded to the RTK level and has firmware version 3.10 or later. To check firmware version, on the main screen select the 'System Information' tab and check the version (1).

Configuration:
• On the Configuration screen, select Add/Remove plugin.
• If necessary, enter the Administration password (2009).
• Scroll down the Inactive Plugins list,
select the AG 3000 VRS option and press the select button
Note: Items can be removed by selecting options in the Active Plugins list and pressing the select button
• Tap OK to return to the
Configuration screen.
• From the Configuration screen (figure 6), select the AG 3000 VRS plugin and tap Setup (1).

• The AG 3000 Configuration screen appears, From the Port drop‐down list, select the CAN port D.
• Select the Internet Base tab and enter UK Settings shown in 'figure 9'

Highlight 'GPS Receiver' and select the 'Setup Icon' Viewing VRS connection status information on the Screen
• Using the drop down menu, choose Trimble VRS. The VRS is now ready to use.
• To check the GPS status, choose the configurations menu, highlight 'GPS Receiver' and choose the Diagnostics Icon. The GPS Quality Status in 'figure 13' will say 'fixed' when using VRS corrections. If lost signal 'float' will appear and if there is no signal then 'DGPS' will be displayed.
