1. Parallel kit EAMM-U-...-D...-...B/C/G/H-S1 The kit is intended for connecting an axis to a geared motor in a parallel configuration ( section 10) and it fulfils protection class IP65. Warning Risk of injury due to uncontrolled movements of the axis! Before assembly or disassembly: Make sure that the motor is switched off. Observe the safety notes in the operating instructions for the motor and axis. Make sure there are supplementary safety measures if a belt breakdown could be the cause of an injury. Note Observe the permitted tightening torques ( section 9). Clean the shafts. The clamping sleeves 3 and 4 only grip efficiently on dry and grease-free drive shafts. After disconnecting the motor or changing its position: Start a homing sequence for the axis. 2. Parts lists 2a. Lightly turn the clamping sleeves 3/4 into the thread. Insert the toothed belt pulleys 6 into the toothed belt 5. Place the clamping sleeves 3/4 on the corresponding drive shafts. When tightening the toothed belt pulley 6, please note that the surface (B) must be aligned flush with the reference surface (C) on the lower part 1. At the start of tightening, the surface (B) should be approx. 1 mm above the reference surface (C), as the toothed belt pulley 6 moves inwards by this value during tightening. 16335d_8 Please note that the surface (B) has a different position depending on the size of the parallel kit. 60 86 110 15346d_9 16335d_9 Select the necessary tightening torque for the shaft-hub connection ( section 9c). This lubrication makes it easier to tighten the clamping sleeves 3/4 later and avoids stick-slip effects. Insert the clamping sleeves 3/4 into the toothed belt pulleys 6.

Tighten the screws 2 for mounting the motor.

Note

A low pretension is recommended. Excessive pretension of the toothed belt results in: – impermissible radial stress/fracture of the shaft – increased wear in the bearings of the axis and motor – reduction in the service life of the toothed belt. Always avoid excessive pretension of the toothed belt.

16334d_11

Press the blanking plug aD1) into the hole (E) in the lower part 1.

6. Disassembly of the toothed belt 5, toothed belt pulleys 6 and clamping sleeves 3/4

Loosen the screw 2 until the motor can be moved. Release the toothed belt 5 by pushing the motor towards the axis as far

as its stop.

16335d_11

Unscrew the toothed belt pulleys 6 while simultane-ously holding the clamping sleeves 3/4.

After loosening the screw pretension, continue to turn the hexagonal nut (F) anti-clockwise to pull the toothed belt pulley 6 from the cone of the clamping sleeve 3/4.

16335d_12

Pull the clamping sleeves 3/4 from the drive shaft.

7. Mounting counter bearing cA … cE

Info

A counter bearing reduces the load of the axis or motor bearings to improve the service life in the event of a high load. If the counter bearing is included as standard, Festo considers its axis-side mounting necessary to achieve the expected service life. In all other cases, installation of a counter bearing is also optionally possible on the axis and/or motor side www.festo.com/catalogue.

16335d_13

Mount the toothed belt 5, toothed belt pulleys 6 and the clamping sleeves cA/cD ( section 4).

When tightening the toothed belt pulleys 6, avoid transverse loads on the trunnions (G) of the clamping sleeves cA/cD, as this will impair concentricity.

16335d_14

Mount the needle bushes (H) in the counter bearing cB/cE without tension onto the trunnions (G).

Secure the counter bearing cB/cE to the holes (I) by using the screws cC3).

8. Mounting of housing upper part 7

16335d_15

Position the seal bJ on the lower part 1.

16335d_16

Secure the upper part 7 us-ing all the screws 8.
