Agawam Mill Pond, Wareham General Information Agawam Mill Pond is a 145-acre impoundment of the Agawam River with a maximum depth of 13 feet and an average depth of 4 feet. Aquatic vegetation is common. The 8 miles of shoreline are mainly wooded and undeveloped. Recreational Access Public access is provided by a gravel boat ramp managed by MassWildlife located at the intersection of the Cranberry Highway (Route 6) and Route 28 in Wareham (70°40'36.30"W 41°45'47.07"N). It is suitable for launching cartop boats and light trailered craft. Parking is available at the ramp for approximately 6 cars with trailers. Please contact MassWildlife for additional information, fee structure, and/or restrictions pertaining to public access of Agawam Mill Pond. Fish Populations The following fish species were found during MassWildlife surveys: Largemouth Bass, Chain Pickerel, Black Crappie, Bullhead, Smallmouth Bass, Sunfish, White Perch, and Yellow Perch. Fishing Agawam Mill Pond has outstanding Largemouth Bass fishing. Also, it has produced Chain Pickerel, Black Crappie, Bullhead, Smallmouth Bass, Sunfish White Perch, and Yellow Perch that meet the minimum size for recognition by the Freshwater Sportfishing Awards Program.
