The idea of our evening is :-

1.To give you the opportunity to see what your son/daughter has been doing at Beavers / Cubs / Scouts over the last year.

2. For the Group to hold its Annual General Meeting and to give you the opportunity to ask questions about how the group runs.

3. It enables us the opportunity to inform you of our vision for the Group’s future and let you know what ideas we have to make Scouting in 1 st Gosport even better and more fun than last year.

Some pictures and information of what they have been up to over the year is up on the

walls. So please have a look around the hall tonight and join us for burgers and games.

There is a word hunt game, find the letters around the building and put them in order

(anagram hint, Tonic fungus).

Treasurer’s Report

We finished the year with a loss of £1068.28. This is the first time we have had a loss for 5 years. However it has been a difficult year with the loss of our scout hut and moving to GADSAD. We all believe this to be a positive move. We will no longer have to pay for gas and electricity, there will no longer be hut maintenance to pay for, no fire extinguishers to service etc. From April to October of last year we paid out £946 which we will save in the coming year.

Fundraising events this year have been limited due to the loss of our hut. We couldn’t hold our Christmas Fair which normally makes £850. A race night was held as our final event in the hut, the beavers went bag packing at Morrisons and Laura Spencer ran the Great South Run raising funds for 1st Gosport. Thank you to everyone who has attended any of these events and to all the exec members for making them happen. We couldn’t do any of this without their help or you as parents.

Please submit a gift aid form if you are eligible and have not done so already. This allows us to reclaim tax against weekly subs and is an important and significant source of income. This year we claimed £1278.64, so it really is worthwhile.

We are always looking for new fundraising ideas, so if you have any suggestions please let us know.

25th September Family Treasure Hut, a fun afternoon on a treasure hunt finishing at

GADSAD for a BBQ. Times to be announced

?? November Quiz night, a fun night for all the family, tea & coffee available, your

welcome to bring drink and a plate of food.

?? November Christmas fair, at GADSAD. Lots of fun games, prizes, refreshments and

craft stalls. 10-2pm

18-20 August Family camp, A camp open to all the family with lots of activities and

fun. Please mention to us your interest, also this is just a provisional date

at the moment.
