Forest governance is a fundamental topic for the implementation of landscape restoration that ranges from a

participatory planning process, decision-making structures to formal and informal agreements for actions

development.

- Discussion Panel 2: Employment generation. Moderator: Dr. Laszlo Pancel, GIZ / Panelist: Jose Roman Carrera, Rainforest Alliance

Landscape restoration can be a catalyzer for temporary and permanent employment in rural areas. This requires

identifying the productive sectors that contribute to reduce ecosystem degradation and value chains that need to be

promoted through public and/or private investments.
