The Napa County Library entered into an agreement with TRICOR Courier and Cargo Service for transportation of bibliographic materials between Napa County Library (NCL) locations and Solano Community College Library. A new Integrated Library System creates opportunities to provide new services and products, in addition to, cost savings on current services and products for both libraries.

PROGRESS UPDATE REPORTS TO THE GOVERNING BOARD
SUMMARY: CONTINUED FROM THE PREVIOUS PAGE Measure Q expenditures during this reporting period were $7,727,707. Following is the status of major projects as of June 30, 2016:
• Performing Arts Building Renovation at Fairfield: construction in progress, equipment list being finalized
• Districtwide IT Infrastructure Improvements: construction and equipment procurement completed, training in progress
• Biotechnology and Science Building at Vacaville Center: construction in progress • Autotechnology Building at Vallejo Center: construction documents in DSA for review
and approval, review comments received for fire life safety and ADA, awaiting comments for structural, construction is anticipated to start late August.
• Horticulture Phase 1 at Fairfield: construction contract awarded, construction is anticipated to start in September
• Science Building Phase 1 at Fairfield: Criteria Documents completed and RFP issued to the shortlisted Design Build teams July 15.

SUMMARY: The purpose of this Board item is to update the Board on status of the Aeronautics and Workforce Development project, which is planned to be located in the Jimmie Doolittle Center complex adjacent the Nut Tree Airport. This new facility is planned to house the College’s Aeronautics program, which currently offers two majors: Airframe Maintenance Technician and Powerplant Maintenance Technician.
