IX Joies’ Race

Long ago, during San Antonio’s holidays, it was a tradition to join in the horse races that were celebrated in the old route of Xàtiva. Riders were adolescents in love who were competing with the only desire of winning the trophy: a white silk handkerchief, the “joia”. This handkerchief was given as a present to the girlfriend as proof of love. It is for this reason that this race is called “Carrera de Joies”.As time went by, the roads were paved and the tradition disappeared. But a few years ago, a group of friends started again and this year it is going to be celebrated once again. You can enjoy this amazing race in Mitja Galta beach, which is located in the south part of the Yatch Club ( C/Alfons el Magnànim).Organizing: “Asociación amigos del caballo”

Seny, an exhibition produced by the “Museu de la Vida Rural de la Fundació Lluís Carulla”, is a showing about two sagas of stonemasons and blacksmiths who, since the nineteenth century, have been involved in the restoration of the Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet after the return of the Benedictine Order in 1940. Ivana Larrosa has worked in many positions, all of them being related to the audio-visual world and she has finally specialized in photography. Although she possesses a huge training in the audio-visual field and especially in photography, her passion for the camera is vocational and it grew up in her as far as she can remember. In Seny, she reflects on the passage of time, the me-mory and the prints, the trails, the impressions, the professional trans-mission of knowledge, the hardness of traditional jobs, the uncertain future… Visiting hours:From Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00h. to 13:00h. and from 16:30h. to 20:00h.
