The superior self-compacting concrete

REDUCES LABOUR COSTS

SAVES VALUABLE TIME

ELIMINATES ALL VIBRATION

THE ADVANTAGES ARE IMPRESSIVE…

Agilia® offers huge benefits and costsavings by allowing placement ofconcrete in difficult situations andcomplex formwork.

It is quick and easy to place, needs no vibration and moves effortlesslythrough highly congested reinforcedareas, with no bleeding or segregation.

Faster, unassisted placing means lowersite costs with reduced risks andexposure to noise and vibration.

Agilia® Concrete also provides a qualitysurface finish better than conventionalvibrated concrete, with excellentstrength and durability. It is particularlysuitable for mass concrete pours, bridge decks, walls, columns, slabs, trenches and precast applications.

“Pouring the mix was simplicity itself,it is simply pumped into the buildingsand requires only minimal finishingto create a self-levelled surface.”

Agilia® Trenchflow is a self-compactingconcrete for use in all mass fill concretefoundation applications.

It is delivered in a highly fluid form withhigh deformability that will quickly allowchanges of direction and enables it toflow easily around foundation trenches.

Agilia® Trenchflow has a high resistanceto segregation and the way itconsolidates within the trench removesthe need for vibration.

“This concrete reduces labour overheadson site – typically one man can place, leveland finish the concrete.”

David Palmer, Self-Build ProjectHemmingfield

A self-build on a rectangular plot whichhad access from the front and side. Thefooting was 17m in length. A site visit wasmade by Lafarge Readymix technicalexperts to assess access and agree the bestmethod of discharge.

There were two reasons for using Agilia®

Trenchflow. Firstly, there was a lack of labourand equipment on the site.

Secondly, Agilia® is quick and easy to use, saving valuable time. One man finished this jobwithin 3 hours.

Supplied from a local plant in Barnsley, SouthYorkshire, only 4 miles from the project. Thecustomer was pleased with the delivery timesand service he received in addition to thesuperior product performance. In total, hepurchased 50m3 of Agilia® Trenchflow.

REDUCED LABOUR

Typically one man can place, leveland finish the concrete.

NO VIBRATION

This procedure requires no vibration, eliminating the inherent problem of‘vibration white finger’ and reducednoise pollution.

FLEXIBLE PLACING

Agilia® Trenchflow’s propertiesallow house foundations to betypically poured from one or twodischarge points.

READY IN 24 HOURS

Early strength – mix achievessufficient strength typically at 24hours to allow the bricklayingprocess to proceed.

COMPLETE FILL

Fills the trench completely, leavingno voids, with little or no surfacebleeding or surface laitence.

NO ADDITIONAL TREATMENT

Does not segregate or require theaddition of water on site to aidplacement of the concrete. There isno need for a subsequent admixture.

INDIVIDUAL SPECIFICATIONS

Agilia® Trenchflow can beformulated to suit all environmentalclassifications.

STEEL REINFORCEMENT INTRENCH

Flows easily around all types oftrench, even those containing steelreinforcement.

QUALITY SURFACE FINISH

Agilia® Horizontal’s finishingcharacteristics and high qualitysurface finish often mean theelimination of the use of power-floated concrete on site. Floor finishtolerance to BS 8204 -1 SR2.

FLEXIBLE PLACING

Can be placed directly from thetruck-mixer chute, pump, conveyorbelt or craned skip.

REDUCED LABOUR

Agilia® Horizontal is convenient, saves time and permits the flexibleuse of labour on the building site.

NO VIBRATION

This procedure requires no vibration, eliminating the inherent problem of‘vibration white finger’ and reducednoise pollution.

APPLICATION

Can be used typically in thefollowing applications; slabs, structural toppings and oversite.

NOISE

Elimates traditional methods ofplacing and finishing concrete. Idealwhen working in inner-city andbuilt-up residential areas.

BENEFITS

Agilia® Horizontal is a self-placing,self-compacting concrete which enablesthe rapid and effortless fabrication ofslabs and floors whilst obtaining a highquality surface finish.

Hallam Contracts, New StudentAccommodation, Leicester

The building is in the middle of anexisting residential area. By using Agilia®

Horizontal, the contractors were able topour each elevation in one, eliminatinglate finishes with power floats, and hencetotally eliminating site noise outsidenormal working hours.

Using Agilia® Horizontal enabled thecontractor to double their pour size andbrought back the time lost on programme onconstructing the first 4 floors usingconventional concrete.

The concrete gang consisted of 4 workers whotypically placed and finished between 600 –690m2 daily over a 4-day period.

Vertical

Agilia® Vertical is a self-compactingconcrete for use in walls and columns inall types of building construction.

“An exceptional quality of surface finish isobtained, removing the need for anyremedial work.”

QUALITY SURFACE FINISH

As an added benefit of the Agilia®

technology, surface finish of thehighest quality may be obtained.

NO REMEDIAL WORK

The highly fluid material willreplicate the shape and texture ofthe formwork and so can be used indesign applications.

NO VIBRATION

This procedure requires no vibration, eliminating the inherent problem of‘vibration white finger’ and reducednoise pollution.

REDUCED LABOUR

Agilia® Vertical is convenient, savestime and permits the flexible use oflabour on the building site.

NOISE

Eliminates traditional methods ofplacing and finishing concrete.Especially important in inner-city andbuilt-up residential areas.

FLEXIBLE PLACING

Can be placed either by pump, crane or skip.

Northfield Construction LtdLoughborough University

A large retaining wall was required ofbetween 4.5m and 4.9m. The client andarchitect required the visible face of thewall to have high quality finish equal to aBS 8110 Type B.

Agilia® Vertical was recommended and eachpour was completed typically in less than onehour, using a crane and two operatives. Novibrators were used.

For some of the wall pours, the reinforcementwas more congested requiring the tremie pipeto be no wider than 40mm; even under sucharduous conditions, Agilia® Vertical deliveredthe same quality of finish with little differencein placing rate. The exposed surface can beseen in the illustration and required no further.
