AGRAme has effectively established its presence as the must attend event by the Middle East’s agribusiness industry players. Growing at an average of 50% in exhibit space every year, AGRAme is now recognized by leading players in the agribusiness industry from all over the world.

With the 2011 edition, AGRAme has made its mark as the largest event in the region, showcasing 165 exhibitors from 33 countries and 8 country pavilions. With leading names in presence, AGRAme 2011 attracted more than 4800 visitors representing 75 countries. The event witnessed a 12% increase in visitors over last year.

The inaugural Agribusiness Outlook Forum focused on the key issues of FOOD SECURITY and WATER RESOURCES in the Middle East region. Running over 2 days, the forum included key regional and international speakers, discussing the various perspectives to these challenging issues. The forum was attended by over 70 delegates from all over the GCC region.

Approximately 90% of the food requirements are met through imports due to the unsuitable climate, limited water resources and uncultivable soil conditions. As a pioneer in aquaculture among the countries of the GCC, the United Arab Emirates is endowed with many natural lagoons, bays and creeks, most of which are encircled by mangrove swamps provid-ing ideal spawning and nursery grounds for a wide variety of fish and shrimp species. Aquaculture concerns like Marine Resources Research Centre and International Fish Farming Company (ASMAK) are leading the development of this sector in the region.
