Maintain adequate drainage channels in the fields.
Use MEGHDOT apps for Weather and Agro Advisory Bulletin..
Rice After Transplanting After transplanting of rice apply pre-emergence
herbicide Butachlor (50 EC) @ 700 -800 ml per
acre within 3-5 days after transplanting in standing
water.
Soyabean After Sowing Maintain proper drainage channels and manage
weeds in the field.
Large
cardamom Fruiting Stage
Cardamom field should be kept clean; weeds should
be removed so that the fruiting bunch can't be
damaged by rats and rodents.
Mandarin
Orange Fruiting stage
Maintain proper drainage system as total rainfall of
334.0 mm is forecasted. Water stagnation in
orchards should be avoided to prevent Phytopthora
incidence. If Phytopthora infection is observed,
then the infected portion should be scrapped and
burnt then the wound should be painted with
Copper fungicide/ Bordeaux mixture.
Ginger Vegetative stage
Weeding should be done. Maintain adequate drainage
facilities to prevent soft rot and wilt complex
diseases. If infected clumps are seen, then the
infected clumps should be uprooted and destroyed.
Apply bleaching powder in the uprooted area only.
Turmeric Vegetative stage Mulching should be done to conserve ridges and
control weeds. Maintain adequate drainage facilities
Animal
Husbandry
(Cattle)
Regular cleaning of cattle shed is essential during
rainy season. To clean the cattle shed use bleaching
powder or calcium carbonate.
Terai-Teesta Alluvial Zone Advisory
General ** Expectations of cloudy sky and Medium rainfall in the coming five days. Complete the rice
transplantation as early as possible. Make proper drainage channel in the field, avoid spraying
operations while it's raining. As per the previous week, NDVI from 15th to 21st July data the
agricultural vigour is in moderate condition (0.2-0.4) and agricultural vigor is also good. As per
SPI (Standardised Precipitation Index) from 1st June to 22nd July 2020 value, the district is
moderately wet to moderately dry conditions. Use MEGHDHOOT mobile application for more
advice about weather and agriculture, and use DAMINI mobile application for timely updates
about lightning from google play store free of cost. For the COVID 19 pandemic situation farmers
are requested no to work in a group, consult with a doctor in case of any symptom. Please stay at

Aman paddy
Seedbed/
Main Land
Preparation
/
Transplanti
ng
weeding/
Sheath
blight
Prepare the main field for the transplantation of Aman paddy with
proper levelling for uniform distribution of water and fertilizer.
Apply well rotten FYM 1 tonne/bigha. Seedlings will be ready to
transplant at 21 days of age. Apply one third of Urea and full dose of
Phosphorus and Potash uniformly while final land preparation. If
seedlings are completely damaged then short duration variety can be
cultivated. As there is chances of decrease in rainfall transplanting
must be done immediately when the water content in the field is
acceptable. If the upper leaves of the seedlings in the nursery are
turning yellow it may be due to iron deficiency. If the upper leaves
are yellow and bottom is green then it’s the deficiency of calcium,
for this sprinkle 0.5% ferrous sulfate + 0.25% lime solution when the
sky is clear. After reduction of rainfall mechanical weeding can be
started to control the weed at initial stage. For chemical control (only
if the sky is clear and no rainfall 7 to 8 hours after application) you
can spray Pretilachlor 50% EC @500 gm per acre within 2-5 days
after transplanting. Due to stagnation of water in the field and high
relative humidity Sheath blight - Fungal disease is common. Excess
Nitrogen fertilizer application can accelerate this disease. August to
October is the high time for this disease attack. Control: 1) Drainout
excess water from infected field. 2) Reduce the dose of Nitrogen
fertilizer. 3) Bio fungiside like Trichoderma, Pseudomonas
Fluorescens is also good. 4) Spray Propiconazol+ Difenoconazole
1ml/liter of water or Carbendazim + Flusilazole 1.5 ml/lit or
Carbendazim ( Bavistin) 1 gram/liter of water.
Harvesting
and Jute
Jute should be harvested at the start of fruit setting; for Tita Jute and
Mitha Jute it is 90- 120DAS & 120-140DAS respectively. 2-3
Jute
retting Sesbania plant should be mixed with every jute bundle for better
retting. For every unit of jute, 20 unit of water is required. To get
good quality of fiber 3-4 kg CRIJAF SONA bio-fertizer can be
applied for one bigha of jute.
Brinjal Fruiting/
Harvest
If the fruits are 80% mature you are advised to collect the matured
fruits. In the time of flowering may be the lower leaves may turn in
brown colour and black patches in fruits. Spray 1-gram

or Etofenprox 10 EC @ 1ml/lit of water when the sky will be clear.
Name of
Animal
Disease
Do not allow animals to get wet during rainy season.
Never let a cow or goat graze in a place where there is
standing water. It should be noted that cows or goats
should not take paddy in any way at this time. If it takes a
lot of paddy and the stomach starts to swell, then feed a
spoonful of mustard oil. It will stop the production of gas
in the stomach. In addition, blotocil or blotonil should be
given in certain doses. If necessary, take the advice of a
nearby veterinarian
Poultry Round worm and Tape worm Never allow chickens or ducks to eat wet or damp feed
during this rainy season. It is very important to provide
particular amount of dewormers for both round worm
and tape worm to any cattle, goats or poultry at this time.
Fishery Bacterial Diseases Please keep clean the pond & apply lime as per
recommendation (Water & soil testing) Indian major carp
& Foreign carp can be released in pond @ 2000 pieces
fingerling. Please maintain the recommended ratio.
Complementary feed must be given regularly. Don’t use
excess feed to avoid water pollution

As the weather is cloudy. Rainy and wet there is chances of
incidence of
BLB in areas of high Nitrogen application. To control apply
Nitrogen
judiciously and in 3-4 split doses. Avoid shade in field.

Farmers should immediately harvest their jute crop, keep jute
bundles in
the field for 3 to 4 days for leaf shedding, as leaves after
decomposition
will add organic matter and some amount of plant nutrients in
the soil. Do
not use banana stems as covering material over the jak. Direct
use of mud
or soil over the ‘jak’ also leads to poor quality fibre which
should be
avoided, instead, farmers can keep the mud or soil in the old
cement or
fertilizer bags as weighing material. Farmers can use reusable
plastic bags
filled with water as weighing material over jak for better fibre
quality.
Farmers can use “CRIJAF Sona” for faster retting with quality
improvement and higher fibre recovery @ 4 kg/ bigha
(30kg/ha)of
harvested jute plants. CRIJAF Sona should be applied during
the
preparation of jak at each layer of jute plants.
Chilli Fruiting Fruit Borer
Integrated pest management of fruit borer: Set up pheromone
traps for
Helicoverpa armigera or Spodoptera litura at 12 Nos./ha.
Collection and
destruction of damaged fruits and grown up caterpillars. Spray
Bacillus
thuringiensis at 2 g/lit. Provide poison bait with carbaryl 1.25
kg, rice bran
12.5 kg, jaggery 1.25 kg and water 7.5 lit/ha or spray any one
of the
following insecticides like Fipronil 5 % SC 2.0 ml /lit,
Novaluron 10 % EC
7.5 ml/10 lit, Spinosad 45 % SC 3.2 ml/10 lit etc.
Cattle
Foot and Mouth
disease
due to rainy season and high humidity. To avoid
this keep the shed clean and dry and disinfect the shed with
bleaching
power. Feed them only dry food. Do not allow them to graze
in submerged
field. If wound found at foot and mouth wash the wound with
potassium
per manganate solution.
Chicks.
Provide sufficient lights and clean drinking water to
the chicks. Sanitize
the surrounding of the shed with Calcium Carbonate or
bleaching powder
to avoid germs.

Rot/Fin rot
Apply need based Calcium carbonate or lime in
submerged pond or apply
Mohua @10 tonne/hectare. To control fin rot disease
decrease population
density in per sq. metre area or else apply The
concentration Acrifalvine
0.02mg/liter for three days and repeated if required..

Undulating Red and Laterite Zone Crop Stage Problem Advisory
RICE There may be a chance of blast disease at this stage of rice after transplanting. Keep vigilance at
regular interval. Apply Propiconazole or Hexaconazole @ 0.6-1 gm/L of water if eye shaped
brownish tint appeared in the leaves. Farmers may go for direct seeded rice of short duration
varieties in medium upland areas..
CAULIFLOW
ER
Farmers may start nursery preparation for early maturing
Cauliflower under low poly tunnel. Use insect proof net to
reduce vector loads. Apply Chlorothalonil
(2g)+Carbendazime (1g/L) with sticker to check damping
off disease..
BRINJAL Wilting symptoms may be appeared during the time of
flowering and fruit setting. Infected plant must be
eradicating immediately. Bleaching powder should be
applied @ 1kg/bigha with irrigated water or apply
Streptocycline SP (Streptomycin Sulphate 90% and
Tetracycline Hydrochloride 10%) at 0.2 gm /liter of water is
advised to prevent the attack..
CHILLI Current weather is congenial for thrips and mites attacks in
chillis crops, resulting curling of leaves and stunted growth
of plant. To control the pest spraying of spiromesifen 22.9 %
SC 0.5 ml/ lit of water after cessation of rain is advised.
COW Regular cleaning of cattle shed using bleaching powder or
calcium carbonate is advised during the rainy season
