Responses will depend on development project chosen. Althoughlikely to be named by reference to its location, accept reference to amore generic term, e.g. irrigation scheme, building of agriculturalcollege/educational facilities provided details given are appropriateand not too generalised. Likely responses will refer to training toprovide skills that can be used on other projects in the future,improving agricultural knowledge and farming technique allowing foodproduction in the future. Candidates should show that advantages ofthe development must be available for future generations. Referencesto sustainable use of resources would also gain credit.(8 marks)

The building of the dyke aswell as increasing the yield of rice taught people building skills and thenew roads that were also built allowed the farmers to take the surplusrice to sell in the markets increasing their income.
