Our first leadership conference was amazing. The speakers were excellent and
we really enjoyed the information that was shared as well as the transparency
of each presenter relaying their message. We were blessed to have a special
guest, Estelle Varnado-Davis, our Vice President of the Southeast Region.
Estelle spoke to us about the upcoming Conference in March and the
excitement surrounding the future of our Chapter. Everyone that participated
in the Mock Interviews and Resume Review said they learned valuable tips
from the sessions. Four past Chapter Presidents were in attendance: David
Herron, Artie London, Felicia Thompkins, and Tony Stevenson. It was truly a
conference to remember!

A Message from Nashville AIM-IRS Chapter President
A I M - I R S
I would like to say thank you to the members of the Nashville AIM-IRS Chapter for a job
well done in 2018. We were acknowledged as the “Most Improved Chapter” in the
Southeast Region. We continue to strive for improvement in various areas of the AIM-IRS
organization with our community service, fundraising, career development, and
membership. As far as membership we are striving to retain our current working and
retired members while reaching out to refresh our membership with new enthusiastic indi-
viduals. We are looking for leaders for tomorrow with new and innovative ideas to keep
the organization running and up to date with technology to reach both our aging and
younger members. No matter what your skills are the AIM organization can use them.
Together, we can become a strong Chapter in the Southeast Region by fulfilling our
Mission and obligation to our members.
I am still 100% committed as the Chapter President even though this has been a rough year
for me personally. I often remind myself of my purpose in life and this organization. I often
reflect on inspirational quotes to remind me that there will be bad patches in life but we
must dust ourselves off and keep it moving. I would like to share some inspirational quotes
for you to reflect.
“Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.”
-Anthony J. D'Angelo Founder of The Collegiate En Powerment Company
(don’t depend on others to make you happy; be happy with yourself)
“When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.”
-Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882-1945);
32nd U.S. President
(hang on a little longer, things will get better)
“Falling down is part of life. Getting back up is living.”
-Unknown
(you can decide to get up and dust yourself off or you can roll over and die)
Let’s get ready to bring in 2019 with a bang!!!!!
Let’s go Nashville AIM-IRS Chapter and make
big things happen!!!!

Charlotte J. Nicholson
Charlotte Nicholson prefers to be called “Shenell”. She was born and raised in a small town in Brownsville, Tennessee along with 13 brothers and sisters. She began her IRS career in 1998 at the Nashville Call Center as a Contact Representative. Since that time, she has held many positions. She was Lead Contact Representative from 2009-2011. She was selected for an Acting Manager Position towards the end of 2011. In November 2017, she completed the Leadership Development (LDP) Program and now serves as a Centralized Evaluative Reviewer (CER) preparing telephone reviews for Customer Service Representatives in Account Management.
She confesses, “God has truly blessed my career, opening doors that I did not know were closed”. The Lord continues to bless her with a career that she loves and daily opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. Whether she is busy with day to day activities, she always takes time daily for quiet time in which she gives thanks to the “Heavenly Father” for blessing her with a heart of love that no situation can change. Charlotte is a 21-year Breast cancer survivor. Everything means something to her because she knows that she used to take things for granted. She acknowledges that health is a valuable asset that you don’t truly appreciate until it’s in jeopardy. She give thanks that she is blessed with a heart that can reach out to others, understand their needs, pray with them, cry with them and laugh with them. She stated that “God put us here to make the world a better place. Everyone is encouraged to grow spiritually, serve actively, and give obediently”.
Thank you Charlotte for being a valued member of the Nashville AIM—IRS Chapter.
Happy Veterans Day ABMTS 2018
AIM-IRS NASHVILLE
Veterans are those who stand up and fight. Because they know this is right. They cross the bright and shining sea. To give us our chance to live and be free. They leave their families and closest kin. For God and country our lands they defend. It’s time we pay tribute for all they have done. They are ALL Heroes – each and everyone. They did not do this for glory or even fame. They did not set out to be Heroes – but that is their name. To those many people that are red, white, and blue. We stand up proudly today and say “THANK YOU!!!”
It’s Thanksgiving, pass the love
The warmth and sharing, pass the smiles
The hugs and caring, pass the blessings
Big and small, pass them on to one and all.
Hope this Thanksgiving brings you a generous helping of blessings!
