} Industry driven standard – developed through stakeholders consultation and at the request of the then YB Minister of MPIC
} Endorsed by YB Minister of MOSTI on 5 September 2013
} Registered as Malaysian Standard; MS 2530:2013
} Announced by YAB Deputy Prime Minister on 19 November 2013
} YB Minister of MPIC announced implementation of MSPO certification from 1 January 2015
} Currently, MPOB acts as Governing Body (GB) and in future GB will be a separate entity
} MPOB will only be the owner of the standard
} To ensure sustainable practices by the oil palm industry
