1. Introduction :This module is a dedicated help module for AIPC searches functions and navigation features.

2. 1. AIPC OVERVIEW2.1. Airworthiness Directory accessTo find Airworthiness Directory (AD), search can only be performed using full text search, and entering complete reference of AD.

form for AD searchExtract of AIPC Figure showing highlighted result of previous search.

2.2. Customer Originated Change search functionIn the form screen, select AIPC in 'document' field, select '*' in 'Customer Originated Change' field, like below

2.3. Effectivity displayIf you access to figure from selection by 6 ATA Digits in the T.O.C, identical effectivity statement is not repeated for all AIPC figures.

Page 8: AIPC_Help

Within an AIPC figure, if there is only one effectivity statement on the top, this means that all ITEMS have the same effectivity.

AIPC Help module - ATRN@v Feb 8, 2012 - Page 8 / 38

Page 9: AIPC_Help

In other case, the first top effectivity statement is the global effectivity of the AIPC Figure (in next example :101-105 131-138). If ITEMshave limited effectivity, specific effectivity is displayed before the concerned ITEM In next example :

• for ITEM 010D, effectivity is 101-105 131-134,• for ITEM 010E, effectivity is 101-105 131-138.

For the ITEM following 010E, there is no specific effectivity, this means that the upper Figure effectivity is applicable.

2.4. Effectivity Engine Serial NumberIn some cases, effectivity can not be shown in FSN concerning the Power Plant data. When the parts are changed by SB manufacturers, refer to the text on the top of the AIPC DPL.

2.5. Extended Range Twin-engine OperationsETOPS data are available in the AIPC DPL below the designation in the "NOMENCLATURE" column of the concerned part and in theP/N window after clicking on the P/N in the DPL.

E.g.

• Part listed with the item 010D cannot be installed on A/C 135 to 138.• Part listed with the item 010E can be installed on A/C 135 to 138.

In conclusion, the new part (item 010E) can be used as spare on all A/C (101-105, 131-138).

2.8. Local ManufacturerIn the AIPC figure, if 'nomenclature' mentions '*LM*', you can access raw material by clicking on P/N.

2.9. Non ProcurableIn AIPC figure, if P/N (in P/N column) is followed by '(NP)' mention, this means that this P/N is non procurable, and consequence is thatAirN@v is not able to show P/N Window (No P/N data, P/N in the AIPC figure is not clickable).

2.10. Oversize / Undersize

2.11. Restricted UsageThis data is shown like an effectivity in AirN@v, but this information is not interpreted in FSN. This data is related to an item. This meansthat the part with Restrictive Usage has to be used in the assembly shown with the item in RU.

related P/N windowThis means that part B539AAM0206 on A/C 101-105, 131-134, can be replaced by itself or B539AAM0307 as spares. In addition, when the part B539AAM0307 as been installed as a spare on A/C 101, for new change, this part B539AAM0307 can bere-installed of replaced by B539AAM0206 on A/C 101.

Example of conditional spares

In some cases, replacement with condition is possible between two parts. The condition is only valid between parts linked by the relation"if PNA, see PNB" or "if PNY, refer to PNX".

2.15. Symmetry informationWhen all items are valid for LH and RH sides, LH/RH information is only shown on the first item of AIPC figure.

example of symetry for all itemsWhen parts are different in accordance with the side, (LH) or (RH) are shown in the DPL.

3. 2. USER INTERFACE OVERVIEW3.1. 2.1 LayoutThe main window is composed of three frames. The left frame displays the TOC of the document. The middle frame displays the sheets. The right frame displays the content of the topic currently selected in the TOC or sometimes the target of a link or index. You may noticethat when you browse the document inside a location containing a figure then the first sheet of this figure is automatically displayed in theright frame.

5. 4. INFORMATION SEARCHING5.1. 4.1 Browsing in or among the documents

5.1.1. The linksIntroductionThe text, which is the origin of a hypertext link, is written with a blue color and is underlined. To reach the target of the link, you canclick on any part of the blue and underlined text. There are several links which pop up an index result window. However, whenthere is a single result, this pop-up window is bypassed; only the target of this link, is displayed, this dialog box being useless.

Link from a service bulletin numberIn the service bulletin list of the IPC document, the service bulletin numbers found in the table bear a hypertext link. This linkallows you to view the items containing it. When you click on such a link, an index result window pops up. This window is split intotwo columns. The left one displays the service bulletin number with its revision and the right one displays the CSN of the itemlinked to it. After selecting a line in this pop-up window the document content frame displays the selected item (See Figures 51, 52and 53).

Figure 55

Link from the Part Number FileIn the part number file, you can find two types of links.- The first one is borne by the manufacturing codes, which can be optional. In this case, a window pops up and displays the entryin the vendor related list.- The second one is borne by the part numbers. If this part number is basic then a related list of CSN is displayed, allowing you todisplay the nomenclature to see how it is used. If the part number is not basic, by instance it replaces an other part number, thenthe right-bottom frame displays information about the entry in the part number list describing it.By clicking on this part number, you may obtain the list of CSN using it. Link from a Manufacturing Code to the corresponding entryin the vendor list The vendor codes found outside the vendor list bear a hypertext link. If you click on such a link then a windowcontaining the entry in the vendor list for this manufacturing code pops up (See Figure 56).

Link from item to figureIn the document, however you displayed an item, coming from the TOC, a link or an index search, you'll always have access to thefigure with the "FIGURE" icon in the tool bar. When you click on it, the figure which contains the item is displayed. Link from figuresto AMM document in the document, for each figure you can find in the nomenclature, if there is a corresponding section in AMM,then an icon in the task bar will appear. It will be labelled as "See AMM". If you click on it, then the document content framedisplays the related AMM tasks.
