CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION
A comprehensive blasting analysis and reporting software developed to meet the needs of both
operators and regulators. It supports and improves compliance with blasting related planning
conditions and contributes to improve blast performance and blast design.
Air blast Predictor is blast vibration control software provide user to:
Analysis of Data
Data is collected from the various sources in a user friendly manner using a few key strokes to
produce in uniform format:
Composite Plots of Air Vibration (Pa or dBL).
Transfer functions for structure response study.
Assessment & Prediction
Site Law Analysis of Air Vibration Data.
Prediction Graph and Tables.
Vibration Level Contour Maps.
Effect of Atmospheric Conditions.
Air blast predictor also provides attenuation formulae for air vibration and Decibel/Pascal
conversions.

1.1 SYSTEM REQUIREMENT
Air Vibration has been developed to run on personal computer under Microsoft XP/2007 using
Microsoft Access database. Following are the recommended minimum requirement:
Memory requirement: 32 MB of RAM for better functioning of the software
Storage requirement: Hard disk drive with 50 MB of free space
Installation requirement: CD-ROM Drive 32X Drive, USB port
Display requirement: XGA graphics (1024x768 display)
Supporting requirement: Mouse and keyboard
Air Vibration is designed for XGA graphics (1024 * 768). Although it will operate in SVGA
graphics mode (640* 480), some of the items may be obscured or cut short in the smaller screen
area, such as dialog boxes, query windows and status line messages.

For login users can enter their user name & password to move on to the next page.
After clicking on Log in button blasting softwares and tools are displayed.
2.2.1 Title Bar
This is top most part of the screen. This displays the Mine name & blast name.

2.2.2 Menu Bar
This is portion of application screen. This consists of menu items defining the basic functionality of the
software. Following are menu items present in menu bar.

CHAPTER 3: GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Air Vibration incorporates several functions:
Mine Details:-
This function allow user to save mine details which include Mine Name and Blast Location. This
information has to be filled as it is needed for generating Report.
To save mine details, click on Edit Mine details.
Prediction:
This function allow user to select any one blasting predictor at a time.
After clicking on Air Vibration, design parameters of Air Vibration are displayed.

Design Parameters:
Following parameters are required to predict the Air Vibration .These includes:
a. Sonic Law Generation
This module is to use the air vibration measurement to generate Sonic Decay Laws for a
particular site and to produce graphs for predictions especially for the limiting the
blasting nuisances. Inputs are:
Charge
Distance From Blast
Sound Intensity
Plot symbol
Supress
Date
Monitor
After clicking on add rows button, row will be added.

The user can use the default parameters by clicking on Set Default button and edit these
parameters as per their operational requirement.
For deleting any row, click on delete button.
After clicking on Refresh Chart button, the result will be displayed in the graph format. In which
x-axis defines the Scaled Distance (in m/cube root kg) and y axis will show the Sound Intensity
(in dBL).

On clicking print chart button, chart will be display.
If user wants to see the print preview of the chart, click on print button and if not then on cancel
button.

User can edit or change the settings as per their requirement. If user wants to print the graph,
click on print button and if not then on cancel button.
Regression Analysis
Regression Analysis check box is provided. When user check the regression analysis check box
and click on refresh chart button, chart will be displayed.
In the graph, x-axis defines the Scaled Distance (in m/cube root kg) and y axis will show the
Sound Intensity (in dBL).

Coefficient Values
Coefficient values check box is provided. When user check the Coefficient values check box and
click on refresh chart button, chart will be displayed.
In the graph, x-axis defines the Scaled Distance (in m/cube root kg) and y axis will show the
Sound Intensity (in dBL).
Forced Exponent
When user check the forced exponent check box, a text box will appear in front of it and
that should have negative value. After clicking on refresh chart button, chart will be
displayed.
In the graph, x-axis defines the Scaled Distance (in m/cube root kg) and y axis will show the
Sound Intensity (in dBL).

The result will be displayed in the Table format.
The user can use the default parameters by clicking on Set Default button and edit these
parameters as per their operational requirement. User can select either high range or low range.
If user select low range and click on display button table will be displayed.

Clicking on Display button, the results will be displayed in the graph format, in which x-axis
defines the Charge Weight per Delay (in kg) and y axis will shows the Distance (in meters).
The user can use the default parameters and edit these parameters as per their operational
requirement. User can select either high range or low range.
After clicking on print chart button, chart will be display.

requirement. User can select Sound Intensity Units (Pa or dBL) and range (High Range or Low
Range), as per there operational requirement.
Clicking on Display button, the result will be displayed in the table format.
