December dates to remember… 12/21 Winter Solstice 12/24 Christmas Eve 12/25 Christmas Day 12/31 New Year's Eve Birthstone: Turquoise, Tanzanite, Topaz & Zircon Flower: Narcissus & Holly We started last month off with the fabulous Annual Turkey Dinner in Yoder hosted by Linda P. from SWCC who is so gracious to invite all 3 Wichita Corvette Clubs to join in the fun. Ron Boswell led us to our own private parking lot across the street from the Church. We filled up that empty lot and it was a beautiful site to see all the Corvettes parked together. The dinner is one of the best attended all year and it doesn't disappoint with turkey and all of the fixins. If you stuck around long enough you were able to purchase a pie to take home and enjoy. Unfortunately the Veteran's Day Parade was cancelled due to bad weather this year. Many of us were looking forward to it, but I know that David Dennis will keep us in mind for next year and we hope the weather cooperates then. We have a lot to be grateful for this year; 1) We have a new E-Board. Please help me give them a warm welcome at the December meeting. 2) We finally have a beautiful new logo for our club T-shirts. The order forms will be coming soon. 3) Kent is working hard, so we can pay online soon. If you haven't been to a meeting lately look at what you have been missing. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Christmas Party on December 8th! Don't forget to bring a dish to pass, a wrapped gift and cash to bid for the gift you really want to steal. Saturday December 8th.

Merry Christmas!!!It is time for our annual Christmas feast. Saturday evening, Dec. 8th. This year, we will be in the Sunflower building at the Sedgwick County Park which is between 21st North and 13th North just west of the big ditch. It is very close to the 13th street entrance to the park (see map on next page). We have the building from 8am to 10pm. Betty Henderson and her gang of loyal helpers will probably be there by 2PM and could use any other volunteers who are willing to help set up. We can use all the help that is cheerfully offered. Party Starts At 6pm and dinner will start at 6:30pm sharp so we can get through the gift exchange before it is time to clean up. Meat, coffee, tea, and table service will be provided. If you want a different type of drink, bring your own. Your obligation is to bring one dish, which could be salad, starch, deviled eggs, desert, whatever you wish to provide. We want everyone to go home stuffed. There will be a white elephant gift exchange. Each person is to bring one wrapped present. This could be a model car, Corvette calendar, something pretty, a hubcap, old starter, or a jar of navel lint. Gifts should be less than $15 down to worthless. Using the same rules as last year. You open a gift and if you want to keep it, you throw in $5 for the Lord’s Diner fund. If you don’t want to keep it, the gift will go up for auction starting at $1. The winning bidder either gives their gift or number to the original gift opener. And round and round we go. I will explain better as we get into the gift exchange when you can see the auction in action.

Rules for the gift exchange after the Christmas feast. All donations (forced or otherwise) will go to the Lord’s Diner. Two possibilities:• Person-A opens a gift. Person-A absolutely loves the gift (or doesn’t want to get

screwed with a worse gift) and wants to keep it. Person-A immediately gives $5 tothe Lord’s Diner fund. Nobody else can later claim that gift.

• Person-A doesn’t want to pay the $5 to keep the gift. The gift is now in play. We willimmediately start an auction at $1 with $1 increments. The high bidder, Person-B,gets the gift and it is theirs to keep. Nobody can later claim it. If the Person-B hasalready received a gift, Person-B will give the gift to Person-A. Person-A again hasthe option of paying the $5 or throwing it back into play.

And round and round it goes until all gifts are opened. Person-A is eligible to bid onlater gifts. You can bid on gifts even if you haven’t already received a gift. In that case,Person-A will open another gift.
