California’s Air Quality/Climate Objectives

• Meet 2032 federal ambient ozone air quality standards.
• Achieve a 80 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from 1990 levels by 2050.
• Minimize near-source exposure to communities located near freight hubs.
• Achieve up to a 50 percent reduction in fossil fuel use by cars and trucks by 2030.

• Increased efficiency at the equipment, sector, and system levels.
• Zero tailpipe emissions everywhere possible, and near-zero emissions with renewable fuels everywhere else.

Met with over 220 stakeholders and the outcome was: • Develop ARB’s vision for a clean
freight system. • Shift from coordinating to integrating the State’s freight transport planning.
