Air Tra ctor's com m itme nt to

    improving our a ircraft m a k

it the best choice a round.

    n 1951, Leland Snow climbed

from the cockpit of a J3-Cub

after his first spray job know ing he ha d tw o

choices: continue flying an airplane that

wasn't made for the job, or design and

build a better one. He chose to build a

better plan e, an d ha s since revolutionized

the aeria l application industry. First ca me

the Sno w S-1, then the S-2 series, resulting

    in th e S-2R Thr ush .

In 1971, Leland began building the first Air

Tra cto r, the AT-300. Toda y Air Tra cto r lea ds th e

    agricultural aviation industry, manufacturing a

w ide product line, including the 400-ga llon 401B,

    402A and 402B; 500-gallon 502A and 502B; 630-

    ga llon 602; and the w orld's largest a g plane the

    800-ga llon AT-802.

In the late 1980s, Snow ma de a nother choice

to diversify the product line with the design of the

AT-802F, Am erica 's first a ircra ft desig ne d fro m the

ground up to meet the specific requirements of

a erial firefighting . This proved to be a w ise choice,

as m ore and m ore 802Fs are used w orldwide each

    fire sea son.

Toda y's ae rial applicators ha ve a clear ch oice

w hen it com es to ag ricultura l aircra ft. Only Air

Tra ctor offers the w idest rang e of aircra ft to fit a ny

opera tion, from sma ll to larg e. Air Tra ctor's

comm itment to ma king our aircraft better for the

pilot , the operator , the industry , and the

environment ma kes it the best choice aroun d.

he durability, safety, flying ease and

proven her itag e of the AT-401B ma kes it

the choice of operators looking for an af fordable

upgrade to a high capacity, low maintenance piston

engine ag plane. Here is an aircra ft w ith an impressive

combination of performance and features that help

operators cover more a cres at less cost.

At th e h ea rt of t he AT-401B's

economy is its ultra-powerful Pratt &

    Whitney R1340 radial piston engine.

Wide ly regarded as one o f f ines t

    radial engines ever produced, the

    R1340 has been remanufactured to

Air Tra ctor specif ica t ions for

    improved performan ce, economy and

    reduced maintenance.

Like a ll Air Tra cto r m ode ls, th e AT-

401B provides superb visibility, a stall-

resistant wing design, and more than

ample power that's balanced by clean

    aerodynamics to provide speed and

ma neuverability even at ma ximum payloads.

The AT-401B ma kes a grea t par tner for a grow ing

business. From its large 400-ga llon hopper that helps

cut ferry time, to its Hoerner w ingtips w hich improve

the r a te of clim b a nd overa ll contr ol, the AT-401B

delivers unsur passed va lue -- econom ically, efficiently

    a nd produ ctively.

    he n w e de sign ed th e AT-402 series,

our goa l was to bui ld a rea l

workhorse of an ag plane but an affordable one,

w ith turbine pow er. We bega n by designing a sma ll,

structurally eff icient airfram e. Then w e low ered

stick and rudder forces so the

contro ls would be l igh t and

    responsive, to reduce pi lot

    fatigue.

    We specified a n e xceptiona lly

    quiet and reliable PT6A turbine

engine for faster climb ra tes and

increa sed cruise speed. And we

    designed a long, high-aspect

rat io wing with Hoerner wing

    tips to increase wing efficiency

    and reduce drag.

When we put it all together,

we got more than a workhorse.

We got an ag plane that pilots love to fly, even at the end

of a long day. For your first turbine, or to com plemen t

you r fle et, on ce you see the AT-402A a nd AT-402B, it's

    an easy choice.

g aviation economics being what they

are, smart operators are choosing the

AT-502 serie s to ma ke the ir opera tions m ore e fficient,

productive, a nd profitab le. It's ea sy to see wh y: the big,

    500-gallon payload means fewer trips out and back;

fewer landings an d take-offs. The powerful Pratt &

ver the years, many operators have told

us t he y be lieve the AT-802A is th e b est

a g plane ever built. It's ea sy to see w hy. With a payload

of 9,500 lbs., the AT-802A offers m ore w orkin g ca pa city

than a ny other single-engine aircraft on the market. I ts

power, speed and payload , combined with a w ide a rray

of Air Tra ctor option s open s up ne w

    income opportunities for operators.

Whether its used for fertil izing

forests, spraying squa re m iles cotton

fields, or spraying dispersant on oil

spills, even the bigg est jobs are a ll ina day's work for this plane.

An 800 gal lon hopper and ferry

speeds of up to 190 m.p.h. help

operators get to the spray site faster,

stay longer and complete the job in

one load . It's this kind of productive

efficiency that m akes a big difference

you'll see at the bottom line.

Air Tra ctor dea lers know the a erial a pplication
