Maintenance Program

• Tasks that need to be

accomplished to cost

effectively maintain safety and

ensure availability

• Main elements of each task:

– Item identified

– Activities specified

– Threshold

– Intervals

• Delivered with the aircraft

• Based on engineering analysis, assumptions & experience

Nose Gear Torque Link NG-032

(Serial Numbers: 162045 - 878) 12 Aug, 2002 (Rev 3)

1. Visually inspect the nose gear torque link pins and bushings for

excessive wear . Replace if beyond limits (see AMT-12-1900)

2. NDI inspect the attachment webs for cracking (see NDI-01-0067)

3. Threshold: 1,000 ldg cycles or 6 years

4. Repeat: 800 ldg cycles or 3 years

Maintenance Program

• Tasks are grouped

– Typically according to flying hours

(often a ‘common currency’)

– Consider: operations, inspection

locations and invasiveness

Real Product Structure

• Configuration state of each asset is dynamic

• Usage flows from top down

• Components that are lifed must be uniquely

identified and tracked

• Lifed components are replaced with new or

overhauled components (usage counter must

be reset)

• Components can and do move around among

assets
