LOSSLESS VS. LOSSY COMPRESSION

Lossless compression uses algorithms to identify statistical redundancy in the data, and then reformats the data stream on the fly to deliver the same data to the aircraft with a much smaller footprint.

LOSSLESSLossy compression degrades the quality of the data, such as an image’s quality when surfing the web to provide you with up to 90% in data usage savings for image downloads, resulting in significantly faster page loads and much less data usage.

LATENCY: WHAT TO DO?

TCP Acceleration

Physics are undeniable, latency is a factor particularly when communicating to the GSO

Serial transactions can be accelerated by spoofing at each end to limit the number of hops.

TCP acceleration increases the data packet window size to the optimal size for the satellite networks, also limiting the number of hops.
