BASIC - AIS/X Presentation What is BASIC? BASIC (Access Box to Coastal IP Services) is a system incorporating all the IP communications available on a ship (concept of IP box). It centralizes the means of communication: • Internet Access (on board / extern) • Access to vessel traffic service systems (ie SPATIONAV) • Remote supervision • NAV PC connection • Radar connection • Featured with AIS/X What is the AIS/X? The AIS/X is an AIS transponder able to perform the WARSHIP AIS features defined in the STANAG 4668 (ed 2) and 4669. The purpose of the AIS/X, whether it is integrated in the BASIC or not, is to allow a better understanding ,use and manipulation (via false tracks) of the tactical situation of proximity while promoting discretion. Specific Benefits In essence BASIC & AIS/X are affordable communication tools that enable secure and enhanced interoperability and more efficiency between ships of all forces (as well as aircraft and helicopters). It enables secure & enhanced cooperation and the build up of a common surface picture: - on a national level between any unit of navy, coastguard, police forces, customs, and even marines, army and air forces; - in an international context between units of various countries that do not yet share a method of secure communication. BASIC - AIS/X features Key features: False track (decoy) management Assuming false identity and/or position AES encryption with keys of 128, 192 or 256 bits Points/targets of interest management Interoperability with an AIS/A Community management, members can belong to multiple communities as long as they have the associated encryption key. Other features: Complies with the recommandations UIT-R M.1371-4 (04/2010) : TDMA Encryption of static, dynamic, free-text, and security & distress messages Use of the 25 & 26 messages of the UIT-R M.1371-4 norm Active/passive mode (emission modes : clear/encrypted; silence, normal or discreet) Ability to use a 3rd VHF frequency NMEA 0183 & 2000 interfaces • Fully compliant with IMO, IEC and ITU specifications for AIS

BASIC - AIS/X PresentationWhat is BASIC?

BASIC (Access Box to Coastal IP Services) is a system incorporating all the IP communications available on a ship (concept of IP box). It centralizes the means of communication: • Internet Access (on board / extern) • Access to vessel traffic service systems (ie SPATIONAV) • Remote supervision • NAV PC connection • Radar connection • Featured with AIS/X

What is the AIS/X?

The AIS/X is an AIS transponder able to perform the WARSHIP AIS features defined in the STANAG 4668 (ed 2) and 4669. The purpose of the AIS/X, whether it is integrated in the BASIC or not, is to allow a better understanding ,use and manipulation (via false tracks) of the tactical situation of proximity while promoting discretion.

Specific BenefitsIn essence BASIC & AIS/X are affordable communication tools that enable secure and enhanced interoperability and more efficiency between ships of all forces (as well as aircraft and helicopters).

It enables secure & enhanced cooperation and the build up of a common surface picture:- on a national level between any unit of navy, coastguard, police forces, customs, and even marines, army and air forces;- in an international context between units of various countries that do not yet share a method of secure communication.
