First of its kind, a two day 1st Kashmir International Conference on Linguistics was organized by the Institute of Languages and Department of English, University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir on 15-16 May 2013. This grand conference was aimed to preserve and promote local languages especially the endangered ones. Such a plump-hearted endeavor coupled with the sincerity, hospitality and disciplined milieu of University of AJ&K is a matter to be only found once in ages. The presence of more than a hundred national and a large number of international linguists testify to the magnitude of the occasion.

The speech of President State of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (Chancellor, University of AJ&K) Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan in his local language Pahari gave a fitting inaugural to the event. Speaking on the occasion, he felicitated the organizers of the conference for taking lead in pumping fresh oxygen to the vanishing languages. ‘This conference will enhance research and pedagogical activities in the university. I find this significant event apt and appropriate in every respect. The presence of national and international scholars makes me happy and I hope the university under the able patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Dilnawaz Ahmed Gardezi, will continue generating such healthy and productive activities’, he remarked. The President congratulated the Vice Chancellor, Chief Organizer, Dean Faculty of Arts and his team.

Addressing the inaugural session, Vice chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. Syed Dilnawaz Ahmed Gardezi applauded the sagacity of the Institute of Languages and Department of English. He speculated this conference to suggest plausible measures to check language extinction.

Minister of Higher Education Matloob Inqlabi emphasized the importance of local languages. Vice chancellor Fatima Jinah University Prof. Dr. Samina A. Qadir lectured her sense of pride for being part of such grand an occasion. In his introductory note, Dean Faculty of Arts University of AJ&K, Prof. Dr. Raja Nasim Akhtar expressed his dejection on nominal attention to languages in Pakistan. He maintained that languages not only serve the purpose of communication but play a significant role in seeking knowledge. He startled the audience with the facts and figures claiming that 5 to 7 out of total of 72 languages of South-Asia will be assumed as safe and durable. Introducing the conference objectives, he said that the core purpose of this conference is to dig out various hazards to local languages and strive to minimize these hazards.

The academic proceedings lasted for 21 sessions in which renowned linguists presented their papers. More than 90 research papers were presented by different linguists including Dr. Paul Kiparsky (America), Dr. Nicholas Osler (U.K.), Dr. Omkar Koul (India), Dr. Wasima Shahzad (Air University), Dr. Musawir Ahmed (Occupied Kashmir), Dr. Nazir Ahmed Dar (Occupied Kashmir), Dr. Adil Amin Kak (Occupied Kashmir), Neelofer Hussain Wani (Occupied Kashmir), Dr. SarwatRasool (Fatima Jinnah University),

Academic SessionsKush Dev Miani (Occupied Kashmir), Dr. Sarina Hussain (Australia), Dr. Tariq Rehman (Dean Beaconhouse University, Lahore), Dr. Raja Nasim Akhtar (Dean, UAJ&K) and Dr. Habib Ullah Pathan (Mehran University). These papers came up with diverse contents ranging from appraisal of different languages to the identification of hazards to languages and suggestion of preventive measures.

Concluding Ceremony

Addressing the concluding ceremony, Chief Secretary Azad government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir Alam Din Bullo said that it was the UAJK who rose to the occasion and excelled everybody in undertaking a serious cause. This conference succeeded in making a distinct mark by bringing renowned linguistics from different parts of world to one table.

The Vice Chancellor University of AJ&K praised Almighty Allah for making the conference a tremendous success. He expressed his resolve to materialize the outcome of this activity and urged for the international publication of the research articles presented in the conference. He felicitated the collaboration of AJ&K University with U.S. Embassy Pakistan.

Reckoning the outcomes of the conference, Dean Faculty of Arts, UAJK Prof. Dr. Raja Nasim Akhter expressed his satisfaction on successfully achievement of the desired goals. He positioned the need to take practical steps for preserving languages as only research papers are not

enough. He further unleashed his plan to publish all the papers in Kashmir Journal of Language Research, UAJ&K. Concluding his address, the Dean admired Dr. Ayesha Sohail and her team as a token of gratuity for their day and night labour.

Cultural Attaché U.S. Embassy Brien Gabel extended a note of appreciation for AJK University on the behalf of the U.S. State Department. He disclosed his intention to further the co-operation especially in languages. He said that this conference was verily an International Conference. The attaché highlighted the ties between culture and language.

American scholar Dr. Paul Kiparsky frowned with surprise on the account this conference uncovered. He was shocked to know that millions of speakers are also exposed to endangerment with their languages. Omkar Paul from India took the moments spent in UAJK as a valuable asset of his life. He recapitulated the hospitality, professionalism and potential of the people of Azad Kashmir. He urged a dire need to incorporate local languages in academic syllabi. “This was an enlightening and awakening conference that made us think seriously”, remarked Dr. Sarwat Rasool of

Fatimah Jinnah University. Dr. Habib Ullah Pathan (Mehran University) denied the instance to think for even a moment that this was the first conference. Owing to the success of the conference, he thought it was one of the many in this University. Pathan proposed to prepare a resolution and present it to the government for further policy-making.

Formation of Pakistan Association of Linguists (PALs)

Yet another notable outcome of the conference was the engenderment of Pakistan Association of Linguists (PALs) the first ever linguistic association in Pakistan for the preservation of local languages. An instant membership of more than a hundred national linguists speaks loud and clear of the statue of this association. The membership was followed by an election that consensually elected Director Institute of Languages AJK University Dr. Ayesha Sohail as President and Dr. Habib Ullah Pathan, Mehran University as the general Secretary of PALs. The chief aim of PALs is to promote research work in linguistics, preserve local languages and strengthen the connections among the experts.

The event was colored with captivating performances by the students of Art and Design Department, Kashmir Studies and the artists from Kashmir Cultural Academy.

On the conclusion of the conference, the guests were served with an excursion trip to Neelum. The guests left Muzaffarabad with a bulky gift of rich and valuable memories.

The memorable conference culminates with an imposition of duty on us to play our part in saving languages for “if not now then when? And if not we then who?”

From the presentations made in the conference, the following points figured predominantly which formed the basis of the following major recommendations of the conference:

1. To identify endangered languages in South Asia.

2. To document the languages facing threat of extinction.

3. To develop research projects for documentation of these languages.

4. To develop joint projects for carrying out research in languages spoken across LOC.

5. Based on the research findings, to propose and popularise strategies for preservation of endangered languages including seminars, conferences etc.

6. Preparation of instructional materials (text books, exercises material etc.) in local languages.

7. To launch a campaign to create awareness about the significance of local languages and their inclusion in the curriculum.

8. To develop a linguistic map for AJ&K.

9. To strengthen Institute of Languages (University of AJ&K) as a Centre of Excellence for research on local/regional languages.

10. To promote coordination between stake holders including academia, the university, language policy makers, text book writers, government functionaries and the local community.

11. To develop collaborative research projects with international institutions/bodies to carry out joint research on endangered languages.

12. To encourage research scholars to undertake/conduct research on the local/indigenous languages.

President / Chancellor UAJK inaugurated the Science Block at Challa Campus on june 21st 2013. Speaking on the occasion, he said that he always feels happy to visit UAJK and as Chancellor, I feel it my duty to support the university. It is a matter of satisfaction that our institutions provide quality education to our students. Our students are our ambassadors all over the world. The provision of higher education to the masses at their door step is our mission. The establishment of Neelum Campus will provide higher education facilities to the people which will go a long way in improving their standard of education. This will lead to reduction in the burden over the urban educational institutions. He assured that the construction of girls hostel will be facilitated with the funds from Kashmir council. He expressed happiness over the completion of science block of the university from its own resources in a short time for which the Vice Chancellor and his team deserve all out appreciation. This is not the time to fight on warfront but to fight on the educational front. We have to win the fight by dint of pen power. Today, we are able to fix student quota for the students of Gilgit Baltistan and other provinces in our educational institutions. Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Dilnawaz Ahmed Gardezi enumerated achievements and successes of the university since he took over as Vice Chancellor. He added that under his supervision, the UAJK has been able to launch new disciplines and programmes. The University started 4 year degree program in various disciplines so as to bring the university at par with other national universities. Important programmes like Biotechnology have been launched in order to provide the students with the opportunity to acquire modern education. The increasing number of students aspiring for admission

Neelum Campus of UAJK has been launched and classes of English and Computer Sciences & Information Technology will commence from September therein. The government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir will ensure the availability of space for the construction of the campus. Presently, classes in two department will be started which will be increased in keeping with the need of the area. It was decided in a meeting chaired by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Dilnawaz Ahmed Gardezi. The government of AJ&K has already issued the necessary notification regarding the

to MPhil and Ph.D programmes in UAJK is indicative of its academic excellence. Various welfare programmes have been launched for the needy and talented students. An H.E.C sponsored need based scholarship programme has been started for the poor and deserving talented students. The directorate of Planning and Development has been launched. An annual calendar has been introduced for examination. Land scape department has been setup in the university. The Vice Chancellor announced the establishment of Neelum Campus from September 2013. A building for Education department worth 2 Billion will be constructed in collaboration with USAID. Efforts are under way to introduce Engineering faculty in the university from September 2013. In order to enhance research and academic collaboration, various MOUs have been concluded with National and International organizations. A land piece of 17 kanals has been acquired at Chattar Klas. The UAJK is confident that the Neelum Valley, besides a tourist hub, will also become an educational hub. With the establishment of Neelum Campus, the people of the backward areas like Neelum Valley will have an access to higher education facilities. The decision of University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir about the establishment of Neelum Campus has been largely appreciated far and wide.

First Job Fair in UAJ&K

The annual prize distribution ceremony of athletics and other societies of Azad Jammu & Kashmir University was held at the city campus. The ceremony was presided over by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Dilnawaz Ahmed Gardezi while Mr. Alam Uddin Bulo Chief Secretary Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir was chief guest. The students winning positions in different competitions were awarded shields. Besides, the individual and collective prizes were

distributed among the university employees on account of their outstanding performance. Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Dilnawaz Ahmed Gardezi said that besides curricular activities, cocurricular activities are given due importance in the UAJK. Cocurricular activities comprise events like conferences, seminars, sports and competition between different societies. The students of UAJK have made others acknowledge their superiority in cocurricular activities in addition to curricular activities. Sports play a role not only in character building but also in personal grooming. While addressing, Mr. Alam Uddin Bulo, Chief Secretary Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir asserted that he feels pleasure in the company of learned people. The higher institutions play a significant role in the progress and development of nations. I am delighted to know that the students of UAJK have earned a good name in curricular and cocurricular activities. I am confident university will progress by leaps and bounds under the able and pragmatic leadership of Prof. Syed Dil Nawaz Ahmed Gardezi.

Productivity Research Allowance Awarded to five faculty members and one Ph.D Scholar

Pakistan Council of Science and technology has announced the award of productivity allowance for five faculty members and one Ph.D scholar of UAJK on account of their research findings and publications. According to the details, Pakistan Council of Science and technology has announced the award of research productivity allowance to Prof. Dr. Haleem Khan, Prof. Dr. Naseem Khan, Prof Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Qurashi, Dr. Khuwaja Muhammad Rafiq Mir, Dr. Iftakhar Ahmed Mughal and Scholar Dr. Shabnam Shahida. The announcement of research productivity award to the scholars is a clear indication of the fact that in UAJK Special emphasis is laid on research activities and promotion of quality research. The announcement of this award to the researchers is not only an acknowledgment of quality research in the UAJK but will also enhance the public confidence on the university. Inaugural ceremony of Kashmir Economic forum was held in UAJ&K. The Director, institute of Economics, faculty members, M.Phil/ Ph.D Scholars, M.Sc. and Bsc. Economics students attended the ceremony. The proceedings of the forum started with the recitation of the holy Quran followed by Naat –e-Rasool Maqbool. The basic objective of the forum is to organize educational events, economic seminars and Research Surveys. Moreover, this forum is aimed at bringing the alumni from within and outside the country in contact with the forum so that they may be involved in academic and research pursuits to establish useful collaborative linkages. The ceremony was chaired by

So Muslim economists should form economic models in view of their religious, ethical and moral needs, Dr. S. Javed Iqbal, Arooj Shoukat, Raja Israr, Naseer, Mariam Bandey and other M. phil scholars expressed their view as well.

He said that theory is taught in institutions of Pakistan and the people cannot understand their local and regional issues.

In time construction of King Abdullah Campus should be ensured

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Dilnawaz Ahmed Gardezi said that the construction of King Abdullah Campus Chattar Klas should be ensured till May 2014. If there is any shortage of funds in the phase II of King Abdullah Campus University shall bring the matter to the notice of Saudi fund for development authorities and we cannot tolerate any delay in the execution of the project. He expressed these views in a briefing arranged by the Saudi fund for development. The briefing was attended by academic and administrative staff. During the briefing, Saudi fund for development authorities apprised the participants of the hindrances in the construction work of the campus. The university staff resolved that there would be no compromise on the construction of King Abdullah Campus Chattar Klas.

Plantation campaign launched in UAJK

Plantation campaign has been launched in University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir on 19th Feb. 2013. Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Dilnawaz Ahmed Gardezi inaugurated the plantation campaign by plantation a sapling. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Dilnawaz Ahmed Gardezi that it is good on the part of university to launch the plantation campaign. The trees are wealth as well as medicine. Plantation prevents the pollution of the environment and keeps it tidy and clean. If we don’t carry out effective planning regarding the plantation, the future of our coming generation will be endangered. University Staff Attended the ceremony and took part in plantation campaign as well.

The MOU concluded between UAJK and Lok Sanj Foundation

The memorandum of understanding was signed between Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Dilnawaz Ahmed Gardezi and Deputy Executive Director Lok Sanj Foundation Muhammad Farooq Khan. According to the MOU, organic farming will be started at Challa Campus in collaboration with Lok Sanj Foundation. The production of vegetables and Trout fish besides Poultry farming will be started along the bankside of the river Neelum at Challa Campus. For the entertainment of the people, Huts will be constructed wherein local food and meals will be available at the weekend. The V.C expressed his views that the food from natural resources will be utilized to improve the health. Presently, the world is conscious about the food obtained from natural resources. It is noted that the through food obtained after the use of spray and poisonous medicine, the farmer get the money but at the same time plays with the human lives. Under the aegis of USAID, 150 students of AJ&K have been awarded scholarships to improve the basic education system. This program, costing 75 million dollars, has been launched. In this regard, USAID is working in collaboration with government of Pakistan.

Completion of Divine Economics Survey

Kashmir Institute of Economics completed its first phase of Divine Economics Survey on different socioeconomic issues on March 31, 2013. In this survey, M.Phil/Ph.D students and survey experts participated. For data quality assurance, services of experts from the recognized institutions such as Federal Bureau of Statistics, Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, International Islamic University Islamabad, PIDE Islamabad and Air University Islamabad were hired. Data Set-I has been completed which has been made available to 2 Ph.D, 7 M.Phil and 2 M.Sc Students for completion of their research work. Based on the same data set, three international papers are already presented.

A Paper Mache Exhibition.

A paper Mache exhibition was held on 12-03-2013 at department of Art & Design. Master pieces of art were prepared and presented under the supervision of Mr. Ghulam Muhammad Lecturer in Art & Design Hazara University. The Secretary Industries and press Mr. Saleem Bismal and Dean Faculty of Arts Prof. Raja Nasim Ahtar Khan were the chief guests of this exhibition. Work done by the students of the department of Art & Design was very much appreciated by all the guests of the exhibition.

Two new research proposals have been submitted to HEC, one is entitled as “Technological Spillovers Effects of Trade Liberalization on Economic Growth; Exploring the Role of Absorption Capacity” by Dr.Miraj-ul-Haq as Principal investigator and Prof. Dr. Sayed Nisar Hussain Hamdani as Co-Principal Investigator. The 2nd proposal is “Sustainable Economic Growth in Pakistan(A case study of Pakistan) by Dr. Sardar Javaid Iqbal Khan.

Internship in Qatar

As an outcome of the seminar held by Kashmir Institute of Economics in which International Scholar Dr. Shoukat Chandna and Ujala Education Foundation participated, two internships were offered. The process of visa and Air ticket in favor of Mr. Naveed Choudhary has been completed in June 2013 and the case of Mr. Asher Awan is in progress.

DRIP is a dedicated and devoted NGO’S of Volunteers Pakistani doctors in Ireland who have put in valuable contributions since earthquake of 2005 towards providing relief as well as training of human resource related to health profession. They have conducted a series of training programmes related to Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiac First Responder (CFR). So for 700 professionals have been trained which include students of Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences, University of AJ&K.

1st Annual Symposium

• 1stAnnualSymposiumwasheldonApril17-19,2013at AJ&K Medical College which had more than 85 original papers presented and more than 32 posters. It was a record as about 80% of 2nd year MBBS Students presented their original research.

Mehfil -e-Naat

Department of Art & Design organized a Mehfil-e Naat on 12-02-2013 at the auditorium of City Campus. All the respected chairpersons and faculty members of other departments attended the Mehfal-e-Naat. Students of the department presented Naats in respect of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W).

• Organized one Day Workshop on implementationof new semester Rules for Bachelor, Masters, MS/M.Phil and PhD Programs of the University on February 20, 2013. The purpose of workshop is to comprehend the new semester Rules (GPA system, Distribution of Marks [Quizzes, Assignments, Sessional, and Terminal Exam.], Probation Rule and Drop Rule etc). The Athletics competition were held in 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 100 x 4 meter relay race, shot put, Discus throw, Javelin Throw, High jump and long jump. The first event took place when Sobia Iqbal an athlete

from Degree College Mirpur got the first position in 100 Meter Race. Aaliya Hameed from the same College got 2nd and Sehr-un-Nisa from Girls Degree College Kotli got 3rd position in this event. Govt. Ghazi Ellahi Bakhsh Degree College for Women Mirpur got the winner position with 114 points. Govt. Degree College Islamgardh secured 2nd with 47 points and Govt. Girls Post graduate College Kotli with 45 points got 3rd position. Habiba Khatoon from Govt. Degree College for women Islamgardh was declared the Best Athlete of the championship with 27 points to her credit.

02. Volley ball

Ghazi Ellahi Bakhsh Govt. Degree College for women Mirpur carried away the winner position. While Govt. Degree College Islamgardh secured 2nd position.

03. Badminton

Badminton Matches were held at Deptt. Of Home Economics Hall. The Dean Faculty of Arts MUST inaugurated the championship. Ghazi Ellahi Bakhsh Govt. Degree College for women Mirpur won the championship whereas, Govt. Postgraduate College Kotli got runner-up position.

04. Table Tennis

In Table Tennis, Winner position went to Ghazi Ellahi Bakhsh Govt. Girls Degree College Mirpur. While University main campus Muzaffarabad got runner-up position.

Girls Prize Distribution Ceremony.

At the end of the Girls Athletics and Sports championships, the prize distribution ceremony was arranged. Shaheen Kosar Dar Deputy Speaker Assembly Govt. of AJ&K was the Chief Guest of the Ceremony Prof. Shaheena Eshaee Director Public Instruction (Colleges) Presided-over the Ceremony. The prominent figures of mirpur, Principals of different colleges, high officials of Educational Board Mirpur, The principal of host college alongwith her staff were also present in the ceremony. Besides the Girls competitors, a large number of Girls students were present in the function. The Chief Guest awarded the shields to the colleges getting 1st / second & 3rd position in the University Intercollegiate championships for women for the session 2012-13. Girls Degree College Islamgardh, who was declared the BEST ATHLETE, received a trophy from the Chief Guest. The chief guest in her address appreciated the efforts of the Vice Chancellor for arranging such healthy competitions among the institutions. She told that the qualities of self control, Discipline, tolerance, sacrifice, co-operation, Sports women spirit develops through taking part in sports activities. She congratulated the Girls students and urged them to participate in such healthy activities as the healthy sports activities are very important for the development of a balanced personality.

Intervarsity Cricket championship

UAJ&K Cricket Team participated in the above said championship organized by COMSAT, Islamabad on February 10 to 14, 2013. The UAJ&K won first match against Air University Islamabad and lost the second match played against UET Taxila.

Intervarsity Volley Ball Championship

UAJ&K got first position in Intervarsity Volley ball Zone C Championship which was organized by Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi on March 05 to 07, 2013 and qualifies to play final round. 13 Universities participated in the championship. The final round was organized by NUST, Islamabad from March 11 to 13, 2013. Sixteen Top teams of the country participated in the final round. The UAJ&K won the first match from Punjab University Lahore and second match against University of Sciences & Technology Bannu.

Intervarsity Badminton Championship (Zone C)

The NUST, Islamabad organized the said championship under the aegis of HEC from February 24-26, 2013. Twelve Universities participated in the event. The UAJ&K got first Position in doubles and qualified to play for the final round at Punjab University Lahore on march 1st, 2013.

Hiring of Adjunct Faculty by ORIC

ORIC initiated the process of hiring adjunct faculty for the first time in UAJ&K. 25, well known Teachers/Researchers from Pakistan and abroad have been hired so far. They will contribute to UAJ&K via teaching through Video Conferencing, Supervision / Co Supervision of research students and may carry out research projects as Principle/

Co Investigator.

Mr. Maqsood Qamar defended his PhD dissertation titled “Gene Postulation and Assessment of Level of Resistance to Rust Diseases in Spring Wheat”. Sociology & Rural Development

Department of Sociology & Rural Development organized B O S on 19th April 2013 to develop curriculum for BS (Sociology) and to update the curriculum for MSc Sociology. Mr Nadeem Haider Bukhari acting dean faculty of arts chaired the BOS meeting.

ZOOLOGY

To maintain and improve the required standard and quality of higher education, the department of Zoology convened 6th Board of Studies (BOS) meeting on 30-01-2013. During this meeting, the syllabi of various courses at different degree programs including B.Sc. (2 year pass

course), BS-4 year, M.Sc., M.Phil./MS and Ph.D were thoroughly discussed, revised and updated according to the current needs and requirements of HEC and global trends. Prof. Dr. Syed Saqlan Naqvi, Dean Sciences, PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram Shah, Department of Zoology University of Peshawar, and Dr. Muhammad Ansar, Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad were the external subject experts during the said meeting. During the meeting the revised syllabi of all degree programs were approved for implementation in session 2012 to onward.

The focus of the talk was to highlight the areas where UAJK can work to improve its Ranking based upon QS world ranking and HEC Pakistan. Faculty members from different departments of the University were present during the talk.

The topic of conference was Conventional and Unconventional Hydrocarbon Potential of Pakistan, Prospects and Strategies, organized by University of Peshawar and PAPG.

Altaf Assistant Director PASTIC sub centre Muzaffarabad and Mr. Saifullah Azeem Sr, System analyst delivered their valuable lectures. • The Department of Zoology organized a One-DaySeminar on “Emerging Issues of Zoology: Cell to Ecosystem” at the department of Zoology Challah Campus Muzaffarabad on June 20, 2013. Purpose of seminar was to promote the discovery and broad communication of the current knowledge about the biology of animals, including their evolution, diseases and environmental issues. This seminar was organized by a organizing committee comprising Dr. Abdul Qayyum Nayyar (Chairman), Dr. Shaukat Ali (Assistant Professor), Mrs. Saiqa Andleeb (Lecturer) and Mr. Riaz Aziz Minhas (Lecturer). Prof. Dr. Munir-ul-Hassan Munir, Dr. Abdul Qayyum Nayyer, Chairman of Department of Zoology, Mr. Muhammad Siddique Awan Associate Professor (Zoology), Dr. Ghazanfar Ali (Biotechnology), Dr. Shaukat Ali (Zoology), Dr Abdul Rauf (Zoology), Mrs Saiqa Anleeb (Zoology), and Mrs Beenish Shahid (Zoology) delivered informative and valuable lectures on different topics related to current emerging issues of Zoology. A large number of teachers from the department of Zoology and other departments attended the seminar. At the end, Prof. Dr. Syed Dilnawaz A. She is also Programs Chair of the Annual Conference on Scientific Study of Economics Religion and Culture, Washington. Both scholars shared their work with each other. The possibilities of future collaboration between the two universities were also discussed. Prof, Lyr requested Director Kashmir Institute of Economics to provide research guidelines in the Economics of faith based post disaster rehabilitation. Prof.Lyr expressed appreciation for the research work done under the flag of newly emerging sub discipline of Divine Economics and hoped that scholars of both universities can get benefit from each other. Director Kashmir Institute of Economics suggested Collaboration particularly in 4 Year Programs with first three years to be completed in Kashmir Institute of Economics and one last year would be completed be in these Universities. The UHI showed Interest for further working on this idea. The Director Kashmir Institute of Economics also appointed Dr. M Nasir and Mr. Adeel Bukhari as voluntary coordinators of Universal values and Survey for Manchister and Scotland respectively.
