Creating future technology
Ankuk Valve proudly introduce AK-Valves, Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Ball Valves that is lightweight yet durable, reaching temperatures up to 250°C. It is100% corrosion resist-ant and is maintenance free at the lowest cost of ownership.
For the most corrosive environment
Fiber Reinforced Polymers (FRP) are well known for their abra-sion and corrosion resistant properties. AK-FRP composite ma-terial are used for many varied applications and it can handle all levels of pH from 0 (acidic) to 14 (alkaline/caustic).
Ankuk Valve Co Ltd is a South Korean company that manufactures Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Ball Valves that is approved to ISO 9001. With a strong focus on developing future technology, we proudly offer AK-FRP Ball Valves - highly durable, light-weight construction and 100% corrosion resistant valves. Compared to traditional metal or non-metal valves, the numerous superior properties of FRP make AK-FRP Ball Valves the best option in the market.
AK-Valves can be used widely and across various industries. In addition, its ease of use and long product life means less mainte-nance, lower installation costs and lower lifecycle costs. It costs notably less than other valve solutions that utilize different ma-terials with similar critical applications. Committed to providing our customers with a high-quality product, Ankuk Valve provides businesses with long-term cost savings that would benefit your overall business.

ISO 5208
Fiber Reinforced Polymer is considered a non-metal thermosetting material, but our AK-Valves far exceeds the test conditions and requirements of thermoplastic valve testing standard of ISO 9393.
AK-FRP Ball Valves are pressure tested according to the International Standard of ISO 5208: Industrial valves – Pressure testing of metallic valves.
Factory Acceptance Test Procedure (FATP) is available upon request.
ABOUT AK-FRP BALL VALVEAnkuk AK-Valves are compression moulded using Fiber Reinforced Polymers (FRP) that consists of thermosetting polymer matrix reinforced with additive minerals.
AK-FRP Ball Valves features a full port, two-piece body flat face flanged design. The valves are available in various sizes - from 1/2” (15mm) to 12” (300mm) in ANSI B16.5 Class 150, JIS 10K and DIN PN10, with handle or gearbox operators. Automated valves can also be assembled with pneumatic or electric actuators, with mounting base according to ISO 5211 and additional accessories, as required.
The symmetrical floating ball valve design allows flow from both directions and is classified as an isolation valve. For maximum safety, our valve stems are blow-out proof, and the ball and seat design ensure tight shutoff sealing according to ISO 5208, Leakage Rate A.
Weighing at least 50% less than metal valves while maintaining its strength, AK-Valves are an ideal choice for metal piping systems, and reduces the costs in piping supports. Having no metallic components in our valves ensures 100% internal and external corrosion free operation even in the harshest environments.
The valve materials are available in FRP-80G, FRP-85C and FRP-100W with temper-atures ranging from -50°C to 250°C (-58°F to 482°F). Each valve material has unique color coding for easy identification and as the FRP color’s are all molded through, AK-Valves does not require any additional coating for corrosion protection.
FRP-80G
pH 4 to 10. Seawater, sewage waste, industrial non-corrosive application.
FRP-85C
pH 0 to 14. Heavy chemicals, waste water, corrosive application.
FRP-100W
Compatible for water supply, water works & fresh water.

All valves are identified with rated pressure, nominal size, material types and serial number; labelled on a SS name plate that is tied onto the valve with an SS wire. Name plate drawing is available upon request.
AK-Valve has 3 types of materials, each identified by the unique color coding of the cap and handle for easy identification. FRP-80G is black in color. FRP-85C is identified with the red color, as shown in the illus-tration above. FRP-100W has a blue color cap and handle.
The simple modular assembly of the AK-Valve allows easy replacement parts of all the internal components that is available as a spare part repair kit. This engineered solutions greatly extends the product life and allows our customers to significantly lower the overall lifecycle cost.

MATERIAL COMPARISON
WEIGHT & TEMPERATURE COMPARISON
The table shows the weight comparison of AK-FRP Manual Ball Valves with the metal and lined manual ball valves from other manufacturers.
When AK-FRP Valves are compared to metal and lined ball valves, the metal valves are 5% to 184% heavier, while the lined ball valves are even heavier, with an increase in weight rang-ing from 143% to 400%.
The light weight property of FRP allows for easy handling and fitting, while offering great value for money when the total installation costs are considered. Aside from the reduction in man-power during installation, there is also a reduc-tion in equipments and piping supports, which reduce the overall live load of a building or an offshore unit.
AK-FRP Valves have a high density, giving a high melting point, which makes the material more heat-resistant than any thermoplastic.

MAINTENANCE FREE
Gland Packing AK O-Ring
Gland packing design is commonly used in the market. It requires frequent maintenance and tighten-ing of the gland bolts to avoid leakage.
It can be easily worn out due to rust and frequent maintenance resulting in a lower life cylce.
AK patented O-Ring design does not require any tight-ening of the bolts and does not require frequent mainte-nance.
This simple design lowers frictional drag on the stem, improving the efficiency by giving a longer life cycle.
Actuator Mounting Pad
Universal standard of ISO 5211 is manufactured from Stainless Steel and available in all sizes.
With the superior strength of AK-FRP and mounting pad designed to connect to the valve body, it is able to withstand a significant amount of vertical weight.
AK Ball Valves has two symmetrical body halves, a one piece ball and a stem with the ball supported by seats on each end.
As a full port ball valve, it has a straight flow path and offers no resistance to flow. It can be used as a ba-sic on or off application, and also for more complex flow control.
It can serve as a tight shutoff valve in both flow dire-cation because the ball is against the downstream seat on both side.
