Slide 2 (aka Topics of World History, Semester 2 mixed with a 38 year old television show) Slide 3 Broadly speaking, there are 10 topics covered in the exam next week. Today we will utilize the economic principle of incentives by using the Family Feud game format to focus our study on the test material of the topics. Slide 4 People respond to incentives. The study of economics can be boiled down to this single sentence. Please listen to this podcast about why Lebron James and Dwyane Wade are wearing planos. Slide 5 Ive given you a study guide to help you prepare for your exam. This game will provide you with a positive incentive to focus on certain aspects of the topics. Today, we will complete the final page. But what are you supposed to do next to the phrase Daily Life in Athens + Sparta? Lets start the family feud! Slide 6 If you are on this list, you wont be playing today. Ill explain why after class if you like. Your job is to be the audience. Connor Andrews Nicholas Berndt Jack Boate Juan Carballo Hunter Chavis Sean Cyr Cre'Shawn Dabney Caitlin Galloway Elisia Jenkins Joshua Kees Kailie Kornowski Bryce Koster Noelle Llamas Daniel Martinez Alexander Martyn Raynah Michaels Lexy Navarro Morgan Nichols Meetkumar Patel Marie Pawliczak Nolan Reynolds Rebecca Rodriguez Noe Rubio Dylan Schmidt Austin Serres Carlye Spencer Sam Spina Zachary Teschendorf Zachary Voss Sydney Werner Andrew Whittaker Slide 7 Keep your blue study page out. When a topic gets written on the board, you should jot it down; if I write it, there will be at least one question about it on the exam. This is a non-competitive Family Feud. At the beginning of the year, I said my number one goal was that all of you made it through this year alive. We wont ruin that on our last non-exam day. If you get three strikes, well move on to the next topic. Guess carefully and ask your audience, too! You can look up the topics you just learned about or you can continue to work on your vocabulary list. You cannot chew gum. Thank you for a mostly wonderful year. Come visit me in the summer at my other job. Come visit me next year (just not during class). Sincerely, Mr. Deutsch
